So far, it seems changing status from "submitted" to "updated" might be the cue for ppr.
Hmm interesting!

specifically, your CIC front page changed to "update" couple times during a week. It is probably good sign that VO is looking at your files after your got "BGIP". But cases are various.

Hello Folks, I had this question bugging in my mind from so many days. I have seen lot of people mentioning BGIP on particular date, how will we know ? My Background status says it is in progress almost since they started working on my application(early 2017). My online status shows something like this "Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." Will this message changes to something else? Can someone clarify please.

If you are Iranian and having PhD, you will go to deep screening which may take a long time! that's unfair!

I saw this BGIP thing on Feb 27, first everyone thought it’s a glitch, now apparently 85% of application whose status changed to BGIP had received their PPR emails already, so it’s not a false alarm.. so stay positive and hope for best soon

how do you know 85%? I too got BGIP Feb 27th but no PPR yet
