The AOR email always says something like "your application has been placed into processing". But the processing (done by a CIC officer) doesn't actually start until ECAS says "In Process", which comes a lot later. I always found it really confusing.

Currently March-April 2014 applicants seem to be getting IP, so you shouldn't be too far off now. To me your timeline seems to follow the general trends posted by other people here.

Thanks...Is "not so far off" like in a month "you think? And from IP - how long is the current wait until DM or PPR is advised. 'Have a dilemma on my Children's school enrollment. School year here starts in June and reservation has to be placed in the 1st quarter of the year (Jan-March). By May, enrollment has to be made/completed for a full school year tuition obligation :-(. Money might be wasted if DM or PPR is not received by May :-(.

Thanks for the assistance :-0

Personally I'm hoping and praying that you guys get your IP and PPRs very soon, because it would mean my turn would also be just around the corner :D

Based on what people's timelines have been in the past year, I would assume that May applicants would get PPRs sometime in the spring (April-May perhaps). I say this because January-February 2014 applicants are now getting their DMs and PPRs (so 1 full year from application to PPR). Early last year IP to DM to PPR seemed to be only a few months, but right now there are still people here who got IP between August-October and still haven't gotten any progress since.

So with CIC you can never ever be sure. They might suddenly start prioritizing other immigration streams, which will change all estimates again. So I would strongly recommend against making any decisions based on things posted here.. because there's just no predicting what the CIC schedules are.

:-(. Is the average timeline you are referring to for all streams? We applied for MPNP FS but from Provincial nomination statement, recommendation to federal is based on skills. Am just confused :)

It's just a general trend that I've noticed here. I haven't seen a specific difference between different provinces and streams, but I may obviously be wrong since I mainly just follow the timelines of BCPNP people (my nominating province).

I know PNP streams in general were supposed to have a faster processing time than other immigration streams (hence the bright-coloured stickers they send you with your nomination package to put on CIC papers), but everything seems to have slowed down recently.

That said, I don't think most nominees will actually have to wait the entire 17 month processing time posted on the CIC website. My hunch is that CIC posts a very very slow processing time so that they can be sure all applications are processed within that time (including more complex and time-consuming applications). Basically I'm guessing that they want to prepare us for the worst and then have us be happily surprised, rather than post an optimistic processing time and then see everyone going past that time.

Thanks :). Hope to see a lot of May 2014 applicants updates here. God Bless!
