Congratulations to all that got PPR and DM the last couple of days, I am so excited for you guys ;D

Another question :)

I have booked an appointment in Alberta ( my application is from within canada). I went online and checked what to bring to the doctor and the website was not clear on bringing the medical forum 1017. Do I need to bring it to the doctor?
Another thing is that some people say that doing an upfront medical while waiting for a medical notice ( I have FN) may actually delay the process. What's your opinion on this?

Thanks!

That's good. Well in my experience, I didn't take any medical forms to the doc.. I got away with just the tracking sheet which I have included in my application packet (did upfront before submitting my application to CIC..so I had the opportunity to send it all together). If I were you, I would call the doc and ask him what documents are required by him. That would be a safe and smart move from your side. Usually it would be some passport-sized photos, email from CIC (with UCI/application numbers), passport, cash for tests, and photocopies of your passport, etc etc.. My suggestion would be to call your doc today and ask him/her directly.. That would be your safest bet.

As for my opinion on processing times, I think 100 people would say 100 different things on any given topic. At the end of the day, what really matters the most is what you believe (and what you know), what you wanna do with that information (that you have received) and the best way to process it all. Not what everyone says would be necessarily true (in your case) sometimes and usually people speak from their own experiences (like me in this instance). As far as processing times goes, please do understand very clearly that CIC works in mysterious ways (taking various factors into account, which we might not be aware of). That said, just because we do a upfront wouldn't necessarily mean that the processing times would be faster (but i would definitely like to think that it would help due to my general optimistic outlook on things).. It might or might not (help decrease your processing time frame) but if you don't try, you might never know the end of it. When you are in doubt, close your eyes and flip a coin. The decision that your mind/heart want to follow through would pop up in your mind effortlessly. Seems childish, but it does the trick..lol ;) But it is totally up to you whether to go with upfront or not. If you wanna wait to hear from CIC, by all means, please do so..

Hope the info was helpful in clearing your mind ;D
Good luck!

"We sent you correspondence on August 13, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required."

Hi, it´s me again!
First of all, congratulations to all of you that have been received PPR like me. Yayyy!! ;) ;)
And for all IP and DM friends, my good vibes are with you... now it´s seems CIC start working again, so election is gone, nothing should interfere with their job. Your PPR it´s going to come soon...

Well, I want to tell you that today I sent photocopies of my passport (because I´m from an exempt visa Country, so no original passport is required), new photos and copy of the letter, but silly me... I did not write the tracking number for the envelope that is inside (the one is going to come back with my CoPR letter), so be smart... and do not forget to write that number.
Please keep post whenever your tracking number get activated, so I can sense when my envelope will come.
Thanks a lot :) ;)

Same happened to me today..the old lady first told me the tracking numbers will be printed on the receipt and surprise.. only the one going.. so.. we will be in suspense.. please keep us posted of your return activations fellas...

On the other side.. I have flights booked to leave on the 20 Dec for christmas holidays and not sure if we will get PR cards by then...

Can we enter Canada again with COPR?

anyone in similar situation?

I read that the processing time for new PR card is 44 calendar days , If i need it by the 20 dec , the processing time must start by 5 Nov.. in about 12 days.... I hope we get COPR next week so we can land soon..

any advise?

Dear friend, we both are silly since we forgot to write that track number for the inside envelope, but don´t worry it will come back soon.
Well, about your question, in my opinion it might not be necessary to have a PR card before your trip. Don't everybody apply for PR card once they have done their landing?, this meaning, they cross the border and leave Canada and they reenter without a PR Card and then apply for the card at the border or CIC office.
Please anyone who had the experience clarified this point.

I'm planning to leave Canada by Dec. 06th, is it to silly? LOL :) :)

Looks like we do have to either have PR or another document

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=605&t=10

There is a way to ask for your Pr card with urgent processing, they need proof that you are traveling outside..

check this
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing-not-submitted.asp

They say they can't do better than 3 weeks so you are going to be somewhat tight .. get ready to have all your PR card application filled so you send right after you do the landing.

Up to day I honestly thought the landing was the really last step of the processing... I hope the PR Card application is not another nightmare.. although we need to pay $50 and take more photos.... :-X

Hi, when cio ask for your pcc and sched A, is it just the reminder email in the heading that comes with passport ans pprf too or it is specifically intending that they need your pcc and sched a. Thanks

Hey, got DM today! :D
