Hello Guys,

Well m also a victim of same generic mail which we all received yesterday ;D i called cic and ask them about the situation and first two agents are not very cooperative but luckily i find third one cooperative fella, he asked my Application Number and give me detail information about my application package and he also mentioned that your file is up-to-date and there is no need to sent any further information until and unless your specific case officer ask for you any.

But at one point he also looks confused to me, so i think i will ask you guys for help. It is related to RPRF:

Q: My wife and my 4 year old son is also associated with my application, for this regard do i need to pay RPRF for all 3 of us or just for me and my wife? please guide me.

One more thing which i forget to mention in my previous post is about Canadian Police Certificate, call center agent told me, they don't to need any sort of police certificate or any type of background check from Canada Police, CIC WILL DO BY THEM SELF .

Hi All,

A couple of questions :

1) Do we need to send copies of passports even if they are valid for the next 12 months or more ? Our passports are all valid for more than 6 months at least from Dec 2015.

2) While submitted my application i had completed the Schedule A form with details of 10 years prior to date of submission ( i.e. Dec 2014). We moved homes in July 2015, which has already been updated in ECAS. Am i still required to re-do the Schedule A form from start , adding my current address, since it only required 10 years prior to application date ?

Called up CIC call center and the agent was as confused as me, and asked me to send an e-mail !

I might just ignore the letter and wait for them to get back to me in case they need anything.

Anyone, any suggestions ?

Regards,

Rick73

Hi Rick, here's what I think about those questions:
1) If you included a copy of your passport with your original application, and it had more than 12 months and you don't have a new passport since then, then you would be fine I would expect.
2) This one's less clear, but I would imagine that you would not need to. You lived at your previous address when you sent your Schedule A, and since moving you've notified CIC by updating your details. So I would think that they still have a full record of your address history thanks to that. But I would call them about that one if I were you.

Hey Quink,

I did call the CIC Call Centre and they are equally confused. 16 months is the only thing they mention every time you call them.

Maybe I will send an e-mail and see what they reply.

Thanks anyways...

Rick

Ah yes, sorry I didn't notice you said you called already! Sounds like you got one of the less helpful agents who only sticks to the script.

Maybe call again and ask very specifically about whether a change of address since originally applying would trigger the need for an updated Schedule A. And if you have no luck with that, then yes, I would email them.

How soon does the ECAS turn into IP after this e-mail that the Dec folks have received?

From the Oct lot many applicants have got DM in exactly 1 month after IP.

Hi Rick, tenkrun10 posted this:

tenkrun10 said:
The email is a standard email that's appears to be computer generated when the system predicts your file will soon be under review by a case officer based on where you are in the queue. They implemented this generic email with the early oct peeps. In my case, I got this email July 2nd (read exactly like stated above). Then on July 13th, I got another request for documents that was specific and had the initials of my case processing officer. The instructions also said to sent documents to the attention of the specific case processing agent. I reckon you'll get a specific request for documents (if applicable) within the next 7 - 21 days ..meaning your file will soon be in process (under the eyes of a case processing agent)
He didn't specifically say that his file went IP 14 days later, but the followup document request had a case processing officer assigned so I suspect we might get the IP status in the first week of August hopefully.

tenkrun10: are you able to confirm when your IP date was after getting the generic letter?

Hello Every one,

Just a quick question?

I have received the same generic email requesting passport copy, police certificates, schedue A, medicals, and RPRF. I have not submitted police certificates with my original application, now i have to do it.

As the generic email says, provide scanned copies of original police certificates. and they have provided mailing address too, but i wanna send scanned copies. Does any one know what email address should i use to send scanned copies of police certificates to?

Urgently response is appreciated.

Thanks

That's interesting that they say that, because in the document checklist (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5690E.pdf) it clearly says that police certificates have to be originals. I would recommend getting a scan and photocopy of them for your records, and then mailing the originals as requested.

Yes, I am pretty sure you have to send originals as well. At least if you are an inland or US applicant. Look at this page on the CIC website (click on Frequently asked questions at the bottom):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp

It says:

5. I need to send documents that are part of the application process. Where do I send them?
Scan and e-mail documents (other than police certificates) to: CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

Send original Police Certificates to:

Case Processing Centre – Ottawa
219 Laurier Avenue West, 7th floor, section B
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1L1
Canada

Which is different than the one mentioned on website. I am not sure where to send it and i don't know where my file is whether in ottawa or in sydney.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks
