My timeline:
PP sent to CIC on May 29
PP delivered to CIC on June 4th
Application approved: June 10
Email about profile update: June 11
Return tracker activated: June 12

I don't have a lot of time on my pass port because it expires on end of this year Dec. 31. Is it okay of I keep calling CIC to check on the process? Will they get mad for me keep calling them? And why does the phone number keep hanging up as soon as I call them lol.

CIC account showed Approved a week ago but still waiting for the return tracker being activated. Kind of worried.

My application got approved on Jun 06, but the return tracker didnt actived yet. (some people get it right after the day of approval notice), I also worried

Just called them again and they said my COPR is in que to be printed. I guess thats good.

My question is - does CIC get updated only once daily or does it happen throughout the day?

For me, I saw a ghost update in myCIC first, the update was about application approved and visa details. Then the next day, I received an email about profile update but nothing change.

Not yet, yeah you can link your PR card to your GCKey account
From there you can track to see if it's approved yet or not. Min is a bit late :/
