I do not see any other reason, as PR decision has been made in your case. Best guess - CPP-O wants to know for PPR.
Thanks a lot rajmalhotra7!

Hopping that Ottawa are not forwarding the file to Bucarest.

I think only LVO of home country instead of CPP-Ottawa will issue PPR, if the parent is in home country, isn't it?

Unfortunately, I think yes. me too I'm roumanian, I'll send you a MP.

I got today an e-mail from Ottawa asking me where it is my parent.
Do you have any idea if they are asking this question before sending the request for passport, or there is other reason?
Thanks a lot
Andre, CIC asked same questions to my parents. After my parents gave them an answer, CIC asked for fingerprints for my dad. But I guess this fingerprinting request is all random.
If your parents are in Canada then CIC can ask them to submit Passport at CIC US. If they are back home CIC will ask them to submit passport in the home country. I doubt they will transfer the whole file to the home country.
Nothing to worry about rather its a good sign. It means that they are almost ready to issue PPR.

My MP enquired directly to CPP-Ottawa (on the advice of CIC ministerial enquiries) to ask why I have heard nothing since Decision Made on August 4. CPP-Ottawa responded to say that PR is approved but paperwork has not been issued for technical reasons which should be resolved soon.
I think CPP-Ottawa are establishing where your parents are so they can issue the correct instructions for the next step. If your parents are visiting Canada (as my parents are) there is probably a different process.

Did they asked about your dad or mom or both?

They have asked in the past same thing & wanted to do fingerprints & send it to RCMP, if the name matches in RCMP database. If so expect 3-4 months delay. If they are in Canada get digital fingerprint, CIC gets result in 3-4 days.

or

It could also be PPR request.

I got really excited after reading your comments (as this change usually means that they are working on your file) and checked my ecas status but nothing happened on mine. Since we have very similar timelines I hope they start working on my file soon as well.

Lets hope for the best.

hope so too :)

Thanks for answer. I think you were right. They shouldn't transfer the whole file to the home country, because if I remember correctly they said in the past latter, they may transfer the file to home country only if they need more info but the positive decision was made so I don't see any reason for transfer the whole file to LVO.
But we will see sooner or latter.

I hoped Ottawa just resolved technical reasons so they will start issue visas soon.

Why should ask now for fingerprints if there is decision made more than 2 months ago?

CIC can ask for any document at any time, even after they have landed actually

Hey I got asked for relationship proof after medical was done. They can ask anything anytime, mostly after the final review of the file.
