We are still collecting documents, as well. My mother was visiting when we have received the letter requesting the additional documents.
Thus, she had to travel to Europe to gather the documents and now we are having them translated, certified, etc.
We should be able to submit everything in January.
I have a lot of admiration for people who are so fast at gathering documents and filling out such delicate papers.

Nobody knows the timeline after submission of papers to CPC, Mississauga. Now that Mississauga will call for PCC also, appears timeline will shrink. Visa office will be dealing with Medical only. Just open the medical report envelop and see if any thing negative, in none, the visa office has nothing else to do except call for ur PP for stamping and Lo , u r in C

Yeah, well... We don't know exactly how things will go after you send the documents because the process was entirely different a few months back. First they'd ask the sponsor to update his/her information, then they'd be approved (just like in spouse sponsorship), then they'd send the parents file to the visa office and only then they'd ask parents for additional information, PCC, meds and so on.

Now there's even a chance some cases will be processed in Ottawa at the new Immigration Office they opened up to work on the backlog, so who knows how long it's going to take now? I just hope everyone receive good news soon!

You mean the one to put on the form? Well, here in Brazil we actually have a document called "national ID", so I just used it. But I guess they'd consider driver's license as a document because that's what they use in Canada.

As for the proof of the relationship to the sponsor, we submitted my brother's birth certificate (proof of his relationship to our mom) translated and authenticated as they asked, and mine (proof of my relationship with our mom) translated and authenticated as well.

As for the translations, my brother actually had them done by a certified interpreter/translator in Toronto, just to make sure.

hello everyone

i have a question please answer
I was sponsored by my husband and while i was under sponsorship undertaking my husband lost his job and went on EI.Then we had to move to social assistance for a year as a family ,so basically we broke the sponsorship agreement.(We had no other way to handle the situation at time I was pregnant and pregnancy was high risk and i spend most of my time in bed or in hospital,so he had to take care of other kid who was very hands on at the time and very agitated because of change of culture and language].I landed in Qubec.
Then we move to another province and started working again .Now both of us arte working for last 6 years.
Now we are earning good income ,we have applied for parental immigration and we are maintaining our lico way above the required amount like around 30,000 .For the last 6 years we did not get any support from govt or not even getting any provincial or federal child tax benefits, may be 100 $.
I assure you the reason for breaking the sponsorship undertaking was not like that we were lazy or did not want to work, just too many thinhgs happening at the same time and no family or social support was there.

Once when we moved from quebec they wrote me letter that they made us an overpayment for childeren and asked some amount back ,which I send them next day.we were giving them around 60 bucks back each month while we were on social assisstance for breaking the agreement.
My question is can we be denied for the parental sponsorship on basis of previous breakdown,my husband ai cosignor for the application,
How do I know wether we are defaulted or not or do we owe some amount to govt or not? They have my recent address but never contacted me for any amount.
Our undertaking was with qubec not with federal
my husband broke the agreement
now I am the applicant .
So how it will work?Am i safe? what will happen ,what you guys think?any suggestion?

Hi noora73, I'm not sure how it works in Quebec, but as far as I've read in guides and other posts, it's okay he went on EI as long as it was not during the 12 months they're gonna evaluate him from. For example, when you sent your parental sponsorship the evaluate the last 12 months of income of you and your husband. Once they start processing the case again (I assume they asked for your parents' additional documents, like the rest of us, just now), they'll evaluate the last 12 months again. So I think you mustn't worry :)

punjabiboy, I'm not sure about your case, but my friend's case (also from Brazil) took only four months after they've sent all the documentation, meds and PCC for them to issue a visa. So ;/ I don't know. I guess each case is different.

My timeline so far:
Applied for parents sponsorship in December 2007
Acknowledgement letter in March 2007 or smth like that
A letter requesting additional documents (as per the Nov 5 2011 announcement): November 28 2011

Still in process of completing the forms and getting supporting documents from parents (who are currently in their home country). Turned out to be a tedious process in our case to get this done, hopefully I will not be too late :-(
