CIC can ask for any document at any time, even after they have landed actually
Thanks for your answer! I didn't know it!

Hey I got asked for relationship proof after medical was done. They can ask anything anytime, mostly after the final review of the file.
Thanks, you are right!
I remember now your previous message to proof your relationship after medical!

someone in the past I think ICJ was asked where the parents were as they needed fingerprints so remember this is for all users, if you do try to go for digital fingerprints (only possible within Canada), but takes 2-3 days if no match found. But 60 days additional if it matches.

RCMP ink type takes 60-90 days + 60 days more if match found.

I hope this helps.

I got today an e-mail from Ottawa asking me where it is my parent.
Do you have any idea if they are asking this question before sending the request for passport, or there is other reason?
Thanks a lot

Andrei,
I think CPP-Ottawa just want to know which LVO shall process visas issuance, and for this they need to know where your parent is currently located, so that to identify the nearest LVO office.
I think you are very close to the end of this process. Good luck with this last step !

Hopping that Ottawa are not forwarding the file to Bucarest.

I guess they just want to know which visa office to choose for visa issue - Seattle or your parents home country.

Relationship proof?

I think only LVO of home country instead of CPP-Ottawa will issue PPR, if the parent is in home country, isn't it?
Request will come from Ottawa if file is in Ottawa via email if provided than passport will be submitted at lvo
That's what happened in my case

I have confusion regarding checking ecas status. If I put my Dad's (principle applicant) information with the file number, I don't get any information and it says to make sure that information is correct and the other case is that the service is available for the applications in process :( It doesn't work even with his UCI number. I can check the information just with my information. How you guys check the ecas status using your parents information?

Is this a new procedure? Never heard that parents have to go to Visa Application Centre ot to Visa Office to get their photograps made there and to take their fingertips !

I think it will be implemented in phases

Thanks for sharing it, most probably same thing it will happen with my case too.
How long took Ottawa to send the request for passports after you told them your parents were in home country?
Thank you!

we just got our email today from OttPilot requesting for our parents passport to be sent to Beijin. Does anyone know how long they will hold the passport? Our problem is that they have already bought a flight ticket to come to Canada for the 22nd of Oct. Does anyone have any suggestions of what we can do do?

Some good news to share...Our parents got their passport back today! they won't need to reschedule their flight now. We had email the office last week to request them to get the passport back as soon as possible given our circumstance. we didn't hear anything back and last night sent a follup email and got a reply back this morning telling us that the passports were already couriered out. We called our parents right away and they told us the good news. We are so releve that everything worked out just in time and they will land as plan next Monday. Wish everyone best of luck with their application.
