Hi All,

I have one question, we are soon shifting to Canada as receiving PR soon. My MIL is alone in India and we want her to live there with us as long as possible maximum. As I could see that sponsorship takes almost 4 years time to be granted.

Can some one please tell me if there parents are living with them on parent/grandparent supervise. If yes, how often they have to go out from Canada? Is there any other limitation apart from going out for sometime after every two years? Please help as we have to plan for her.

Super visa is provided for a 10 year period - the validity of the visa really depends on the validity of the passport that you're submitting along with your application. With a super visa, they can stay up to 2 years at a time in Canada and then would have to go out of the country and re-enter (I'm not sure if there is a limit on how long you would have to be out of canada to re-enter).

Hi Guys,

How long does it take to get passport stamped with VISA in New Delhi if passports are handed over to VFS office in New Delhi as mentioned in the email? It is for my parents sponsorship. I got notification by email on Dec 22 and have been given 30 days to submit passports.

Due to holidays as of now, we are planning to submit the passports next week at VFS office in New Delhi. As my parents do not live in New Delhi we have to travel to New delhi and stay there.

Apart for the VFS handling fees, I guess there are no other charges? correct.

Folks - my parents got a letter in asking them to submit their passports as their app for permanent residence has been finalized.

They are currently visiting me in Canada and their medicals are expiring on Feb 1 next year.

Is anyone familiar with how long submitting the passport to Ottawa takes or if they should go back to New Delhi and submit via VFS?

My timelines are as follows:

App Filed - Nov 2009

Transferred to NVDO - Jan 2013

Medicals - Feb 2014

hi i need some help regarding financial proofs for sponsoring my parents.
i am here from last 2 years howver they are asking about three year revenue agency notice of assessment. 2013 i have NOA showing 100K+ and also i can provide 2014 so far tax paid (on 100K+).
can i really apply or its mendatory to have last three notice of assessments ?

You have to wait for three years before you can sponsor your parents.

This is what my letter says, 90 days then good.

If you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre – Ottawa (“CPC-O”).

what they are asking to you ? why it is so late because you submitted on 20 sep 2013 and they are asking on oct 2014.

so we have submitted that N does anyone know when we will get the PP request ?

what is age of ur both dependent at the time of application???? and what additional document they asked for ur brother? is same happened with u also or not?

Hi! Could someone please tell me, how to calculate family size? Sponsoring 2 parents. Our baby was born this year. Now its 5 people, but what about income for 3 consecutive years when there were only 4 people? Do they count it as income for 4 or 5? Thank you!

It will be 5 people for all years.

We're applying in 2015. We have to show income for 2011,2012,2013 for 5 people even though there were 4? Baby was born in 2014.
