Q2> My parents are in India and soon going for medicals. Where should they ask DMP to send the results to New Delhi or Ottawa?

Try to insist on the DMP to send the results to the address mentioned on your letter requesting then medicals. Call the DMP ahead of the appointment and tell them of the new process (they may not be aware of it).

hello
Ross and user828, and Const>>> did cic ask you for your parents birth certificate too or not? and will u provide police certificate also this time or not thanks

Congrats, you've almost reached the final stage. Wait for a few days to receive the letter and then mail the passports. There may be some additional information in the letter (like how to send the passports etc).

Thanks. I am thinking the same too. I wish they sent the request by email. Hopefully we get the passport back before the medical expires.

One of the requirements of the additional documents is to provide the Birth Certificate(of your parents) as well as Marriage Certificate (of your parents) and your Birth Certificate. Combined, these documents prove your relationship with your parents beyond a reason of doubt. In most cases, especially while sponsoring parents, birth and marriages of the parents were not recorded. Hence these would not be available. In such cases, provide a sworn affidavit which gives the above details.

I have heard of cases where CIC has extended the validity of the medicals if they expire shortly before the visa is issued.

Actually I have heard the same from a call center agent but I was sure if I should believe that or not.
I guess I will find out from the visa expiry date once my parent's visa is stamped.

Regarding Option C - I am sending the latest one as I did my 2011 taxes. I am not sure if T4's would be acceptable. Better to ask CIC call centre than to risk it

Police Certificate - I will send the police certificates with this package. I have asked my parents to start working on this

Relationship Proof - I am sending a translated copy of my Birth Certificate and my secondary school certificate which has name of my parents.

Karan 916 read this very carefully: ( as I am speaking from experience)

If you dont have ur parents birth or marriage certificate, make sure u send affidavits in lieu in order to avoid delays in ur application.

Thanks a lot. I have told my parents to get their marriage certificate. They will have to go in front of registrar in the courts and they will issue them a marriage certificate. But I will also have them get affidavits as you mentioned. So I can have all my basis covered.

Thanks

In the additional documents section it was asked the contact details of the parents siblings. Should they be accurate & will they contact them? (bcos lost touch with one of their sister but know their old address) Also is police clearance certificate needed to be attached now with the documents? thanks in advance

If you put any info you are not sure about, I would at least accompany with a clarification note (so that you are not accused of misrepresenting information). This is just my IMHO but I was paranoid and added notes (on a separate sheet) where I felt they were needed.
E.g. my parents' parents are both deceased and birth cities are not known exactly. My parents had a guess but were not 100% sure. I put those cities but added a note that we are not 100% sure and are not able to confirm.

(I am still waiting for approval (hopefully) so I have no idea if all my explanations actually satisfied CIC ;D )

no, never asked me coz I explained in letter that we can't get any, both born b4 1947 in Karachi but Indian Citizen
my file is transferred to India so it will takes ages for them to ask for PCC and I am not voluntarily sending anything, coz they expire in 6 months and immigration is known to ask things twice

I find this medical thing a total farce, sure you must check for TB, HIV but anyone over 55+ will have some niggles and even if meds are clear in a 6 month period, they can still get any illness 6 months after landing. They are just satisfying themselves by letting in people who were almost perfect in a given time frame, if you are worried so much then offer them discounted health insurance but don't keep them away from kids

yeah its bull shit man.. they dont request medicals when you apply for visitor visa..my dad went to canada a year ago..they didn't even request for t.b check...but in parents sponsorship they do..
and delay the process by asking for remedicals...even if you have some minor disease which cannot spread...
