Cyclist,

Thank you very much for the help! I am assuming that the main reason for our interview is that we didnt have the wedding ceremony, however our marriage is genuine and there shouldnt be any problem. I will post a summary of our interview as soon as I come back from Turkey (in probably two weeks).
I have another question which is not related to the interview. How much turkish Lira should be enough for us if we want to stay in Ankara for about 4 days? Also do you have any recommendation for places to visit there?

Thanks again!

There are couple of hotels that are close to embassy I stayed at marya hotel..Teribble hotel. 70$ .gladly I stayed only one night. 50 Turkish lirası is enough for a day per person . + hotel. I don't have any recommendations since I spent only 3 hours. I live in Istanbul:)

@Cyclist,

Did they get your passport right after interview? or you have to wait for passport request and then send your passport.

Thanks!

unfortunately they didn't get my passport..CIC will request it.
when you are there can you ask the process? :) what's next ? if the passport is requested we have 3 options.
1)mail it (says up to 3 month to process)
2) give it in person by you
3)give it in person by a representative.
so it's better to ask someone in the embassy to get the accurate timing.

We went for interview. It was easy and straightforward. It took about 30 minutes and they passed us. They just want to make sure that the relationship is genuine and they don't care about the rest.

I asked the question regarding the passport request. They told us that after this stage we need to wait for clearance. The lady in embassy told us that we will receive the passport request in January and it wont be from Turkish Embassy. The passport request will come from Ottawa and we have to mail the passport there.

Based on that I think you should receive your passport request earlier, probably in December.

I did send it with the application but there was a 6 month time gap in my history . I forgot to write. I was a student that time. so they want the form again with no time gaps

Hi,

My husband is a PR in Ontario and I am American. I am currently living with him in Canada as a visitor and we are completing the spousal sponsorship outland application for me to come to Canada as a PR.

My question:
1. On the sponsor questionnaire that my spouse is filling out asks him if he is living with anyone. Should he list me even thought I am still just a visitor (I have been here less than 6 months)? I should add we signed the lease to our condo together.

American Vistor in Canada awaiting PR through spousal sponsor outbound

Hi there,

I am looking for some guidance with figuring out how long I have been here so I don't over stay my visitor visa while awaiting my PR.

Since Jan 2016 this is how long I have been here:

Jan 2016- 1 week
March 2016- 1 week
April 2016- 5 days
then in July, I "moved" here but just staying on a visitor visa

July 19-Aug 20th (left for a week trip to the DR)
August 28-Sept 7th (left for 1 week back to USA)
Sept 14-Oct 22nd (drove over the U.S. border for the night)

I am leaving for a trip to Bali in Toronto in the first week of January and I am worried about getting back in. My passport hasn't been stamped by a Canadian border officer for over a year so none of these trips were stamped thus I have no proof to mark my 6 month mark. Does my 6 month mark restart every time I leave Canada since my passport hasn't been stamped therefore I would go 6 months from the October date I re-entered Canada?

Should I apply for an extension to my visitor visa in December so I could already have an extension in January when returning from my trip?

I guess we couldn't convince you in the other thread, so...take a look through this thread:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-applications-through-sydney-australia-office-t46958.2265.html

You'll see that a lot of people are getting PR in ~ 4 months. These are REAL people!

Regarding your question about travel...Nowhere does it say that you CANNOT travel with an Inland application. You certainly can. The consequences for being denied re-entry, is what differs; substantially!

IMHO, there are only three possible advantages to an Inland application:
1. If the applicant is in Canada without legal status, as it offers a layer of protection from being removed by CBSA.
2. For those whose most important objective is to work ASAP, since an Open Work permit is usually issued ~ 4 months after applying.
3. If an interview is required, because of concerns/doubts about the relationship with the sponsor, it would be at the local CIC office, NOT the foreign national's home country.

So...if you want your PR ASAP, I highly recommend Outland. The application packages are nearly identical, so don't let that discourage you.
I agreed with Ponga. Just to add to that. I am out of status and applied outland in Aug, 2016. I am in my final stage of getting my COPR once I submit my COC. Yes, I am one of the country that require CIC official request letter for COC. if not, I believe I will get my COPR in 3mths.

I did consulted an immigration lawyer and he too suggested to go INLAND. Being we are out of status, you cannot submit OWP together with your INLAND application. You need to wait 7-8 months for the AOR before you can apply OWP. Immigration lawyee advice INLAND because that is the safest route for them but not applicants. Just my 2 cents of thought. Good luck.
