Hi,

Does any one know about those who have submitted full documents to CPPO-OTTAWA in October,2010 and when shall they receive a reply from VO (Medical or interview call)?

Appreciate your valuable replies?

Regards,
Well if someone has submitted their docs in Oct 2010, than generally you get a call for meds after 5-6 months of sending off your docs. So somewhere in March/April 2011.

Guys, on a general note, has anyone of us thought about ordering CAIPS? CAIPS will give us indication as to what's happening with our fiels.

Hi,
I am still unsure of what CAIPS is. What extra information would they tell you apart from the fact that your case is at a certain stage? would it give you timeframes?

Ya,CAIPS is the system that visa officer uses. It'll possibly have indication of when they'll be issuing PPR. Only if it's been entered in the system.

Hello there guys!

I found this forum by accident. I am also a 2007 applicant, request for resubmitting documents was on April 2010, and meds came in October 2010.
Anyway, I was going through the CIC website, and I found this information, I don't know if you all know it or not, but I just wanted to share it with you.
cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/data-release/2010-Q2/index.asp
Check out the second table, the backlog of applications remained from before Feb 27 2008 is 354,880 files in June 2010. Compared to 374,827 in March 2009. Which means that only 20,000 applications of the backlog files were processed for the whole year.
So, if we will divide the remaining 350,000 by 20,000 a year, it will take CIC 17.5 years to complete this backlog. And given the fact that this backlog goes back to 2005, I think that the 2007 applications should be finalized roughly in 2025!! and this is a very bad news!! ???
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I do hope my calculations are wrong.
Best wishes...

Hi Secret,
Its good to have a new member bringing such bad news!!!! Welcome to the 'waiting room' !
If we haven't heard very soon, we'll be staying in the UK, 'cause there is no way we're waiting 17.5 years, not even 1 more year. :'(

Dear secret,

This is a mistake and in fact it is March 2010 not 2009.

In the begining of 2010, the pre-February 2008 backlog was about 400,000 but until September 30 the backlog is about 339,000.

Dear nectar,
Even with your calculations it will take at least four years to finish this backlog :(

Even with this statistics (Numbers) you are looking @ ca. 5.5 to 6.5 years. Who knows, with the way they change their time lines (like weather in Europe), it may well be 17.5 years.
Anyways, most of those (2007 Applicants- up till September) who received docs update, did in fact get medical, and are at the last stage (PPR stage) and CIC may well meet their time line of 42-48Months with respect to their cases. Also the October 2007 to Feb2008 clients may well be sorted out in 2011, which will mean that they, In fact, met their proclaimed 48Months Limit taking into account the number of candidates and the number of months left for the pre-feb2008 applicants i.e Oct, Nov, Dez, Jan and Feb) one could well assume that they meet this time line.

Dear secret,

you are right CIC will take 3-4 years to clear the FSW backlog.

CHC London might clear pre-February 2008 backlog (total of about few thousands) by June 2012.

Dear Secret,

Thanks for your informative link, but as most of us here belong to CPP-O and I hope you too, than we all are well within timeline of 10 months given by CPP-O considering the fact that we have completed our medicals and we are waiting for our PPR.

The figures are right but the figures we are talking about is of whole world. We got to remember that in some countries, due to backlog and slow processing, waiting time is 7-8 years, offcourse pre feb 2008. So those who applied from those countries (e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal etc) before feb 2008 had this thing in mind to wait for 7-8 years to get their application finalised. Individual Visa offices are responsible for their backlogs and trying to clear it as soon as they can.

Not at all ultimate_mr_universe, we are in this together. And yes, I too 'belong' to CPP-O :)
And again, fingers crossed for everyone here, I was just sharing a news, I too hope we will all be in Canada in less than 10 months from now.

I was thinking today that since I think I was the first one to be asked for medicals, which seems so long ago now, I only have until mid-July this year to enter Canada. This is because medicals are only valid for one year and the visa is only valid until exactly one year after medicals are done.

If I get a passport request in February (being very hopeful), I would not get the passport back until lets say March 15th. This only leaves me with exactly 4 months to go, which is not much, and I know that others are given at least 6 months, since many people need to give notices and also sell homes and arrange school for kids (not my case though, but they do not know that).

I am wondering if it is worth asking them via email but I am quite discourage because I know some of you have been getting very general replies. If I do not get my visa by March, then it will be pretty tight to comply with the visa expiry date. Although I guess I would just go to validate it and return to the UK until everything gets sorted, but ideally I'd rather just leave.
