Hello everyone,
I am turning to the community for advice, shared experiences, or insights regarding a total deadlock situation that has been dragging on for months at CTD-Ottawa.
Here is a summary of my case:
My questions for those who have gone through a similar reconsideration process:
Thank you in advance for your advice and support, as this invisible wait is taking a massive toll.
I am turning to the community for advice, shared experiences, or insights regarding a total deadlock situation that has been dragging on for months at CTD-Ottawa.
Here is a summary of my case:
- Application Type: Reconsideration request following an initial refusal.
- File Number: E003785510
- Key Timeline:
- Reconsideration request submitted and acknowledged in April 2026.
- Financial compliance (verified with Afriland First Bank) fully addressed and submitted.
- Medical exam is valid until December 2026.
- Last Webform submitted on September 23, 2026 (response received: "Officer Notified").
- New GCMS notes were just ordered two days ago (still waiting to receive them).
- The Problem: It has now been 6 months with absolute radio silence and zero movement on the file. Previous GCMS notes showed no recent updates or case notes from an officer. The file seems completely stuck in an inactive queue at CTD-Ottawa, while I notice cases submitted after mine are getting responses.
My questions for those who have gone through a similar reconsideration process:
- Beyond Webforms and waiting for the new GCMS notes, are there alternative strategies (excluding Mandamus due to cost, and excluding a Canadian MP since I live abroad) that actually worked for you to force an officer's attention?
- Has anyone experienced a sudden movement on a reconsideration file after months of total silence?
Thank you in advance for your advice and support, as this invisible wait is taking a massive toll.
