Hi. I can't remember how to order the notes. Do I put Privacy act or Access to information act? Also I ask for electronic file right? We're inquiring about my wife's permanent residence application so I choose Immigration File: Permanent Residence right?

You have to choose Access to information act and electronic files. You should also attach the signed confirmation of the principal applicant to release the information on his/her behalf.

Does anyone know if there's a restriction on how many times GCSM notes can be ordered?

is that ok i didn't attach anything coz it says optional if u want to attach

If you are applying on behalf of the principal applicant, you should attach the consent form of the latter.

There is no restrictions . Each time you order you will be 30 days behind. Every time you order them you must attach the consent form, unless you have previously signed to be there representative.

I wasn't aware that would would lose a month when you order them. Any way to cancel your order?

No, you don't lose a month of processing time. You "lose" the month in that when you order them, you will typically receive the notes 30 days later, but the notes will only be current as of the date of the order. Many users regularly order their files throughout the process.

The internal processing seems to pull the file immediately, but then it will sit in a queue to be somehow further processed. Maybe this is where the security sections and such get censored.

All that means is when they send them to you it represents a point in time 30 days prior to the day it is now.. So if you order them June 23 for example and receive them July 23, the notes won't tell you what happened between June 23 and July 23.. It doesn't add on to your wait time by 30 days if that is what you were thinking?? In other words: It's all good! 8)

Thanks . The way I interpreted that other guys comment was that they will pull your file or take it out of queue for 30 days. Thanks again.

I understand now. I just want to see if there has been any movement on our file. That way if I see they are working on it, fine. If not I'll need to try to find out what's happening. I'm in Mexico and we sent our police record check 3 1/2 months ago. Normally people get PPR about a month after sending this check and we haven't heard anything so I'm wondering what's happening.

Is this a second request for police check . I had to send one upfront.

For Mexico the embassy sends you a letter when they are ready for the police check. Someone from the Mexico thread sent theirs in May and got PPR in May. We sent ours on March 3rd and still no news! Not sure what we can do. They won't tell us anything when we send them e-mails inquiring about it. Not sure what to do anymore.
