ordering GCMS notes

For Mexico the embassy sends you a letter when they are ready for the police check. Someone from the Mexico thread sent theirs in May and got PPR in May. We sent ours on March 3rd and still no news! Not sure what we can do. They won't tell us anything when we send them e-mails inquiring about it. Not sure what to do anymore.

Can you use the call center from Mexico JAMO? I would give them a call and see if you can find out anything?

Hmm?? I can't seem to find a number to call outside of Canada.. Anyone know if it is possible for JAMO to call CIC from Mexico to get some info?

I know the feeling and can understand.. All I found is this from 2012 but it seems kind of sketchy to me to try, dunno? I followed the instructions provided:

+1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)

That redirected my call to CIC. I waited for 10mins and finally reached an agent.

My question was about using either my immigrant visa or my multiple entry visa for an initial trip I'm planning to do to setup everything before the rest of the family travel together and do the landing.

At some point of the conversation he asked me where I was calling from. I told him that I was currently located in Mexico. Then he said: "sir, you're not supposed to call this number if you're outside Canada. How did you reached this number" (he sounded mad). I explained him what I did, and kept asking me why and how I got there. I explained 2-3 more times until he finally accepted (resigned) to help me.

So, bottom-line: the number above works, BUT since that number is only for people currently in Canada, if your question reveals your calling from overseas, the agent might refuse to help (not sure, I was lucky and got my question answered)."

Maybe it's worth a try. I'm just wondering though since our application is in Mexico City, if the guy answering the phone will be able to access our information. What do you think?

I wish I knew more but most of my limited knowledge is US/Canada based and I struggle with that at times too lol.. Hopefully someone in the Mexico thread you posted in will be of some help.. In your paperwork for Mexico was there a number you can call, like in the instruction guide or anything?

They don't put any phone numbers on the letters we have received from them. On the CIC website for the Mexico City office they only have e-mail addresses. I guess I could send an e-mail to the case specific e-mail but from the way that they have responded so far I don't think I'll get any info from them. I'll just wait I guess and see what the GCMS notes say. Hopefully I will see some movement on them from the last time I ordered them 3 months ago. If not I'm not sure what my options are.

I tried some different numbers for the embassy in Mexico with no luck so I guess we just have to wait in the dark. Nice service.

Sorry to hear that JAMO and cool you got through though.. Wasn't the call center lady able to provide a number for you at all? I hope you hear something soon, and I wish I was more experienced with outside of US/Canada questions to be of more help.

The unknowns with all this process really suck for sure, been there.. I guess all you can do is mail about your concern again and wait and hope for the best.. There really should be an outside of Canada call center line for people to inquire and have some piece of mind. Good luck and hope you can hear some good news soon!

Hi. I can't remember how to order the notes. Do I put Privacy act or Access to information act? Also I ask for electronic file right? We're inquiring about my wife's permanent residence application so I choose Immigration File: Permanent Residence right?
