OPNP Work Permit Applications ON HOLD Status - Please share

Hi,

I am starting this thread to find out how many OPNP certificate holders are waiting for their Work Permits to be issued. Some are saying that their application status is ON HOLD for a while. My Open Work Permit application status is ON HOLD as well for over a month. It would be great if you share the following if you have applied Any Type (i. Bridging Open category...ii. OB 406 category...iii. LMIO Exempt category) of Work Permits using OPNP certificate.

Date Applied: Sept 29, 2014
Status: ON HOLD since Oct 15, 2014

Hi Shariar, I am in same position now, applied for Bridge Work permit after i received OINP nomination...

May i know how long it took to release the hold, any chance you remember what type of documents they requested for? This answers would definitely help my situation, Thanks in advance.

I am travelling to India in 2 days from now, i don't know whether i should cancel my trip or just go ahead and submit what ever documents they are asking for via Online...

Hi, Im in the same boat, applied for BOWP on jan 21st, status changed to on hold Today(24Feb), current work permit is expiring in 4 days.
Sent them AINP Certificate, letter of support, AOR of PR.
Not sure how long its gonna take, but i guess i can still work in implied status while they process my application


I have applied for an open work permit and permanent residence. What if my current work permit expires?
If you submitted an open work permit application with your permanent residence application, you can keep working after your current work permit expires. However, while the application is being processed, you can work only for the employer on your current work permit
