OPNP is on-hold?

My company have applied for OPNP for me on July 30, 2014. It almost 90 days, sill there is no response from OPNP, though my Manager said, he got file number for my application.

My Manager called OPNP today, first they said quota for this year is over, we will give response next year. When my manager said 90 days are over and my employee work permit is getting over by Dec 2014. Than she said let me check and gave reply saying next month you guys might get reply but we are not sure.

We are not able to understand what is going on there ?

If this year quota is over, they should have not given file number, if they gave file number they should have followed up by saying we will process application next year or should give clear status of application.

CIO received mine on July 2nd 2014 according to Canada post tracking. Still no AOR.

Hi I sent my package to CIC around the same time. I checked on UPS website and it was received at the end of June. Still nothing so far. This is really frustrating. And my pnp certificate expires on Nov. 17 this is really frustrating.

Did you email CIC to ask if they have received your file?

If Quota is full :-

1) They would have update Ontario immigration website saying "We have reached limit for this year" or they would have updated their Facebook page. As they are doing so, for past few year.
2) Return application package saying we need to apply for OPNP next year as we have met this year limit (2500).
3) If file number is generated, it means file should be open and limit cap of OPNP is not reached yet.

1) Last year they reached their quota in August 2013, but they didn't post an update on the website or FB until end of September.
2) ON PNP keeps the files and sometimes processes applications even if the quota has been reached. They just don't issue certificates until the year after and the new quota is assigned by CIC
3) As in point 2 above, ON PNP keeps the process going (to a certain extent and number of applications, my guess is they stop all activity for december-january holidays), they just don't issue certificates until the year after.

There are two quota is OPNP :
1) Nominee Quota.
Nominee Quota is full for this year, if any one haven't received certificate it means your application is moved to next year. (Mostly Master students prefer this Program)

2) Employer Quota.
In Employer Quota, your company files PNP for you, for those applicants, PNP quota is still open for 2014.

I applied for an Open Work Permit through the OPNP certificate, its been on hold for over a month.

I was wondering if anyone else applied for Work Permits through PNP certificate ? Are all applications are still ON HOLD ?

I called CIC and the agent has sent a msg for me, but waiting for a reply now.
