Sup it's great news. If there is no change in mailing address , then do we still need to send payment return fee form ?

Cheque is in local currency or Canadian dollars and its drawn in local bank or Canadian bank?

@aashamsi - cheque was drawn in local currency and on a local bank. It is a government of canada cheque but drawn against a local bank.

2. Will my wife and child also get open work permit alomg with me and can we all land together.
3. Many documents like PCC and bank statements are common to both open work permit and provincial application. So do we have to submit these documents twice or we can submit a copy only.
4. What about health card. Does owp have same health card coverage as PR cardholders.

Hi Kurt,

Its my bad, the forms you filled are correct. I forgot, sorry about that. About the OWP for your spouse, I am not sure about that. I know that if they just issue a TRV for her, she can request a OPW once she gets here at the airport when you land here. Normally the rule is that, your spouse can get a OWP if you i.e. the primary applicant has held a A, O level job in canada for 6 months. Thou, it may be different for our case and they may just give your wife one to. About medicals, normally TRV holders applying for a long term i.e more than 6 month visa are required to undergo medicals, but sometimes they issue a 6 month TRV for first timers and then you can convert it to a long term once you get here. Dont worry about the medicals, they will have to go for it for the PR anyway.

Good news, june applicant got PPR from CPPO!

PR AOR + Medical Request: 7th September 2012 (From CIC-Sydney, Nova Scotia)
Medical done: 17th September 2012
Last Ecas update: 19th October 2012 "In process" "Medical results Received"
PPR: 1st February 2013 (From CPP-Ottawa)


Hopefully this will bring good news to all of us soon.

I got it by email. I think you should get it anytime now. No it does not mention any processing duration, just your Client ID and File number. No Mention of medicals either, it comes as a separate email after about a week.

"When you say medical request comes as a separate email after about a week." I received my aor which has my client I'd and uci and said my file is being sent to visa office for further processing. But after that I did not receive any email for medicals. Is it visa office dependent that some visa offices will send request for medicals faster than others.

Hi,

I think it is Visa Office dependent, in Canada applicants who have their VO as CPP-O get it within 3-10 days of getting AOR. While out of Canada VO get it in 2 weeks to a month I think. When did you get your AOR?

Hey,

Sorry I missed this post of yours completely.

1. You need to fill out the OWP for yourself.
2. You need to fill TRV form for your spouse and child along with additional family info forms.
3. Bank statements will be the last 6 months and tax docs too. PCC's do not send unless asked for.
4. Yes you will get the health card once you come here, it is not as extensive as for PR holders but pretty extensive for a basic coverage, you wont get dental and eye care but all other blood work and flu shots are covered. Meds you will have to pay for prescription drugs, unless you have third party insurance. Dont worry it covers most of stuff.

Let me know if you need more help. Also Malisa can correct me on the forms for OWP.

Visa Office: New Delhi
OWP: Not Applied / Undecided

I would like to ask you all going for OWP will it be a good idea ??? considering tht New Delhi processes applications within a year.

Has anybody still received OWP issued by Delhi yet ?

How are processing times calculated?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.

When estimating how long you will wait to receive a temporary visa, you must also take into account up to 10 days of transit or delivery time on top of CIC's processing time. The time your application will spend travelling to and from CIC will vary depending on where you live.
