Hey King80,

Look forward for at least 2 months, thats the least if you are fortunate. When I say two months, it is to get the PPR. Not that you will have your visa stamped in 2 months. For complete processing, at least 3 months.

There's NO way you will get it in 2 weeks. Our friends case here who got in 2 weeks is an exceptional case.

How does Buffalo RPC transfer files to other consulates?? Do they follow by geographic wise or any other criteria? are we seeing any approvals from Buffalo directly?

I got my Med and AOR in NOV 2010. My baby was born on Dec 2010. I Sent in my son's document to buffalo on Dec 13th 2010. Until now, I haven't received my son's Med request. Is that normal case? Since the medical is delay for two months, will my case delay for the same amount of time later on? Guys with similar experience please advice me

Okay guys here's my say on the file transfers...::

This is the general perception of most of the people in this forum on the topic of file transfers: That the file transfer is random, they transfer files by picking them up at random, there's no actual criteria for transfer blah blah blah and what not.

But I DONT think it is true, its not. Here's my answer why:

1. File transfer is not an easy task, there are many things involved. And they do it very systematically. I mean they sort it according to where you live in Canada/USA etc etc.
2. Some files which will take longer time will be retained as its not worth to transfer them. Buffalo office has more staff than any other office.
3. So if your background check is still not finished in the normal time frame which is around 4 months from the date of receiving AOR/Medicals, your file is likely to be retained at buffalo.
4. If you present your file complete in all respects, then you can hope for a faster processing.

So guys file transfers are not done at random...

VAtoCA,
There was no form as such that I had to fill to send with passport.
Just had to send Height & Eye color information on a form that was provided.

If the consulate did not provide you that form, here is my suggestion:
Write Applicant name, dependant name, file number address & Height & eye color of each person and send that along.

Other than this 4 photos & RPRF fee was required.

Each consulate can have minor differences in how they request information. And you can always call the consulate to clarify.
They will provide you the best information in this situation regarding their requirements.

Hope this helps

- Virgos
Thanks, Virgos. I did got that form about height and eye color. However on the same form it is asking me only 2 photo for each family member. Did they asked you 4 photos?

"3. ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE ENCLOSED TWO PICTURES FOR EVERYONE IN YOUR
FAMILY. The photographs must be unblemished as they will be used to produce your Permanent
Resident Card once you are in Canada. The requirements are as follows:
< DIMENSIONS - 35mm x 45mm (1 3/8" x 1 3/4") finished size. Show a full front view of the person’s
head and shoulders showing full face centred in the middle of the photograph. Measure between 25 mm
and 30 mm (1" and 1 3/8") from chin to crown
< BACKGROUND - be clear, well-defined and taken against a plain white background without shadows
< COLOUR - photograph can be in black and white, or colour
< CONDITION - no creases or staple holes should mar the face of the person. Facial features should be
visible
< AGE OF PHOTO - 1. Within 6 months; 2. Bear the date the photo was taken (not the date the photo was
printed) directly on the back of one print (stick-on labels are not acceptable)
< PHOTO PAPER - 1. Produced from the same unretouched film or from the same file capturing the digital
image or from two identical photos exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera; 2. On
photographic paper that has a backing which accepts and retains the date without smearing. Photos without
this backing are not acceptable; 3. On prints that are well-fixed and washed to prevent fading and
discolouration
< IMPORTANT - must be original photo (not taken from any existing photo)"

Lol, if PCC and FBI letters would have suffice, then we all would have got our PR's in a matter of 3 to 4 months.

No certainly not, just having PCC and FBI clearance letters does not mean that you are Background check is clear. Its an indication from your side that your background is clear, however, CIC will perform will their own checks before they can issue PPRs.

When CIC states 11 months as processing Time. Is this from the date they recvd application or from the day they issued AOR or the start date of processing that ecas shows?

doesnt CIC have to finish processing on a case within a year of the date when medicals are done (so that an applicant can travel to canada with out requiring to do another medical exam)?
