Hi Friends,

My file was transferred to NYC on Oct26, 2010. Got RPRF request on Nov21 and paid the fees on Nov22.
Havent got Passport request yet.

Yesterday I sent an email to NYC Consulate enquiring the status of the application and i got a reply within few minutes stating that my file is in que for final stage processing and review.

On Jan26, 2011, I will be completing 3 months after my file was transferrred to NYC. Incase, I dont hear from them by then I wish to visit NYC Consulate in person to enquire the status. Do you think it's a good idea? Any suggestions?

I have paid RPR fees and Buffalo has sent the receipt for the same. Is there a possibility of consular transfer?

Also once the check for RPRF has been encashed, does it mean that background checks are over?

Just to update everyone where their cases has been transfered to NY consulate. They issued our visa within 9 days they received it from us. With an express mail....they mailed it yesterday and received my passport back today....

My Case has been now showing as medical received.Could some one able suggest me date of PPR with a below time line?

Here is my Time line.
AINP Application Filled on: Feb 15 2009.
AINP Approval on :Nov 20 2009.
CIC Application date :Mar 04 2010.
Medical Requested date :June 29 2010.
Medical Done on July 01 2010
File transfered to Detroit on Nov 02 2010.
Ecas Changed to Medical Received on Jan 10 2011.

PPR??????

Emailed Detroit on Jan6 & Got reply on Jan 10 stating "Your file is now ready for completion....you will get instructions shortly"

My feeling is you will get your passport request much sooner than the 26th. NYC does not even let you go to the consulate personally to get your visa stamped; I am not sure they would be very thrilled if you went there in person to check status. If I were in your shoes, I would just wait it out since you know you're in the final stages.

I agree with Chigirls' suggestion. CIC does not want to recieve email/case specific enquiries and discourages the applicants to make inquiry in any form. Showing up at Buffalo, NY office might yield same results as that of an email enquiry.
