One year deferral to an university, will there be any problems with immigration?

But can't I do medical for my current visa? I mean I know my medical will be fine, there's nothing wrong with me, so would it possible to do another medical for the visa i received this year? or would i have to reapply for another medical?

Look mate.. u cud get another medical done..
But then.. the UMR for that medical will be different from the UMR submitted while getting the VISA..

Like other members suggested:

Do NOT complicate things.. Just land in August beginning so medical is no more a problem.. and show at POE why you HAD to defer.. That is it..
This is all legit.. as your VISA will still be valid.. you have a LOA.. you have a LOI.. so all good..

You could stay in a hostel or hotel, or rent an apartment starting from mid-August already. Can't afford it? Well then you'll just have redo your medicals and reapply for the visa. Your choice.

What you have in your hand rite now is a very precious thing.. Im not overplaying this, but you are one of the lucky few who applied for a VISA and GOT it.. so respect that..

Going for another application can have totally different results.. I hope you fully understand this..
CIC will always give u the option of "applying again" by default..

That is how they operate..
But you judge your situation here carefully..

i have no intention of applying for visa gain, i was just worried whether the cic would cancel my current visa and study permit now that i told them i have to defer to next year, and they said to reapply...there is no chance of that happening is there?

sabby thank you for you reply. actually my session will start somewhere in the middle of september so i will arrive at canada on september instead of august, which means i have to do my medical again...i have to contact the cic for this right?
also, i'm confused as to why the cic would tell me to cancel my visa and permit and reapply...what do you think could be the reason for this?
