I am in the US and got my PPR email to submit documents for COPR to Ottawa. I sent an email to cic asking if instead I can send passports to NYC consulate. Does anyone know if cic accomodates such requests? I can drop and pick up in person in NYC.
Why do you want to go to nyc consulate. You have only 30 days to get the visa. So, just send them. You have to print the return shipping label. Fedex is the fastest service between the 2 countries. If you do it overnight and get the return shipment overnight too, you will get it within a week. I sent it on Thursday. They received it on Friday. I think I will get my passport back in this week.

It says "We will send you a message when we start your background check." And its been the same forever. We passed our medicals within 15 days after applying.

A few days back, the additional docs status changed to "we need additional docs to continue processing your application," but we did not receive any message from them. Then, two days back that changed to "we are reviewing the additional docs provided by you." Not sure what they are referring to, as we did not submit anything from our end.

Not to worry.

Additional documents , they refer which documents are not mandatory and you have provided to support your application. For example: Bonus letter from your company , appreciation letter, etc...

Okay. Although my main concern is the time they are taking. Just wanted to know if mine is an exceptional case, or its normal for IRCC to take so long to process applications.

These documentation status have happened to quite a lot of candidates, simply a technical glitch.
as you can see my timeline is not much different then yours, few of the candidates mentioned that they never got to IP2 or NA2 stage,or it happened in a single day and same day they received PPR,and some say these update statuses doesn't mean anything, behind them application is getting processed. So hopefully mine and others facing same have their applications getting processed, and prayers for a hastened PPR.
