I was just wondering why there would be differences in the processing time while i think my app is pretty clear and straight forward.
clear roles and responsibilities on the employment letter, working for a well-known company worldwide. No records on my PCC (from a visa exempt country. Reviewed my app with a lawyer before submitting it. It should be easy for them to process my app. my coworker applied around same time and she's already landed.

There would always be lucky ones who will get MR before others will get. You cannot compare . I am still waiting and I applied in August.

The lone officer who was left behind by his co-workers enjoying the sun (and well..protesting for equal pay) doesn't like the month October...(perhaps he was dumped by his gf in that month..who knows?) so he always skips anything that is related with October. It just reminds him of good memories...

Though tomorrow, we might have an officer on duty who loves working on Saturday till 10:00pm. And he reads 50 shades of grey throughout the day but purposefully starts sending email at around 940pm - just to make his supervisor know that he has been working all day.

(folks..dont take anything mentioned above seriously....i'm serious!)

How long does it take to hear something after applying for ATIP?
Heard nothing for 9 months. it's just frustrating. and CIC aims the processing time for CEC to be 10months? yea right.
BTW, can i have both study and work permits at the same time?
Was thinking of taking courses at a Univ. while i continue working.
Is it possible?
thinking that I wouldve got PR by Sep, i already applied for Univ and got accepted.
Please share your insights on this.

It is issued very quickly but you won't get it in the mail before 30 days.

Heard nothing for 9 months. it's just frustrating. and CIC aims the processing time for CEC to be 10months? yea right.

Takes time, too many applicants. They should outsource non-sensitive parts of it to private companies like many other countries do.

BTW, can i have both study and work permits at the same time?

My understanding is no, you can't. If you are working full time then you can not study full time as well, if you are studying full time then you can only work part time which is the case of Off-campus work permit. Call CIC and verify.

So, not full time? In that case do you even need a study permit? Part time education to keep your knowledge up to date might be possible. Again call CIC and verify.

So I have some good news on the application front but its aggrevating at the same time. So when I applied I wrote the embassy and they sent a signed letter on embassy paper saying my police background check was good. I sent this in the application. I got an email stating I needed the police certificate. ANnoyed me as I asked embassy and they said this is all I needed. So I emailed to the reply asking that since I have sent the letter from embassy stating I have no police record could I start medicals while I'm obtaining the certificate. I went to lawyers again and got the notorized passport and sent everything away to embassy just for them to tell me they can't do anything different then before. Wasted $75 there. Thankfully lawyer renotorized my passport for free and then I sent letter of to justice department in Lithuania via Fedex Express as Immigration gave me 60days to produce certificate cost $125. I was breathing some relief as my sister was going tohelp me get this certificate and get it mailed back to me. WHat a huge rush and panic I tell you. THen guess what on Friday CIC emails and says they have found my police certificate {guessing letter from embassy} and now I don't need to do anything. I mean great for that part but seriously WTF here they made me take 3days off work and do all this running around, messing around again with embassy and justice department, what a pain in the ass for someone being so damn careless. Just so everyone knows it took 2wks for a reply from them, so just imagine how many emails there is. I'm elated that I'm one step closer to MR but I'm also po'd that someone was so sloppy.

You are lucky man. I am also single , NOC 2174, got the MR same time as you, but I am still waiting for my PPR.
Hope to receive soon. This wait is killing me. But I can be relieved from the fact that people from May/April are still waiting for PPR.

What happen to October applicant's MR. Is CIC becoming slow now or people stopped updating the latest info.
