He's been calling every two weeks and contacted the MP who found out that his application went to secondary review. But when he called last time they just said to wait everything is ok.

Hi guys,

I am just writing this to show my frustration with the system:
I am also one of the famous Oct 2017 applicants who got the first steps like the test and interview quite actually fast but then got an RQ which runs till now
Couple of observations:
It seems that to IRCC, there are Oct and Nov applicants and then everyone else. I mean those who actually could apply in Oct and Nov but waited till Dec or Jan 2019 had a better chance of faster processing. I seems IRCC has decided that instead of moving on a first come first serve basis, keep the honor of 12 months processing for everyone except the Oct and Nov 2017 applicants (to a large degree). I am not condemning this policy but I am definitely suffering from it.

And now about the RQ (I am being very sarcastic here): you see: birds have rights in Canada, bears have rights in Canada, all classes of temporary and permanent residents have a lot of rights in Canada. When your citizenship application gets scrutinized by an RQ (and plus you belong already to a prolonged waiting list of Oct applicants) your rights are ... I am not sure what to say! I like to quote one of the call center agents: "you are at the mercy of the officer".
Well, I shared this so to say I am also hanging out there while posting from time to time to say I am also alive! lol

Still waiting and it has been around 18 months. Had my test about over one year ago. Since then waiting for Oath.

Same here I did my test April 2018 and since then just waiting , I called Cic like 100 times and each time they told me to wait , I really don't know what to do! !

Yeah Ia m the same its going to be 19 months soon and I stopped evene checking. Life does not stop because of this pathetic Citizenship

After many months of frustration, I finally got the decision made on Ecas. I have not received any email or letter yet but I am happy that its decision made status. It's after 19 months. I will call today to find out as the call center can tell the outcome of the decision made.

The reason for the delay was the background checks form my country that took forever.

I have called the CIC Call center this morning and they told me that it's been approved and all the security checks are done. Now I am waiting for the local Immigration office to arrange an Oath date for me. I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. I hope that if you are waiting you will hear something sooner than later. I know and feel your frustration.
