Did you have to fill an authorization letter for the other non-accompanying family members?

I am a single applicant for PP surrender and OCI with Married status . My spouse is currently in India do I still need to submit Authorization letter
Also are they checking Original documents for In Person submission Since marriage certificate and COPR PR card of my husband is with him

Not sure why you quoted me, since I've yet to file for my OCI.

Hello,

I am from Saskatoon and planning to apply for OCI card. I looked the checklist for Vancouver region and it does not seem to make sense to me when it comes to sending original documents. So, I called BLS multiple times and each rep had different answers about documents requirement, they also asked for some original documents that are not mentioned in the checklist. Is there anyone from Vancouver jurisdiction who can help me with the list of original documents that we need to send?

Seems like someone is walking from BLS to CGI with your application in hand. But even walking won't take 12 days. Just a Joke.

You can call bls or send web inquiry from their site. Web Inquiry is guaranteed reply with in 24 hours. I got my reply around 10 pm every time I inquired.
Ask them everything in detail and they will reply with detail.

I am so sorry. Looking at many requests for "webform" links, I did not even notice this was the OCI thread. LOL.

I don't know and I think you can check status on the BLS website or on the OCI website. I haven't seen links to any "webform" for OCI. Guess you'll have to call BLS.

Went to submit my Surrender+OCI forms. It's like visiting a passport office in India. Mayhem.

One line for walk-ins. That shit's going to take forever.

One "line" that is not a line for those with appointments and those returning with missing docs or photos or what-have-yous.

The security guard is dual purpose like in a typical Indian govt office. Poor guy's gonna go mad dealing with covid distancing + BLS madness. He's not super polite but isn't rude either. Efficient at what he's doing.

We missed mother's name in my application so I had to redo the forms, get them printed at the BLS center (0.50cents per page) call my wife, get it re-signed etc.

A lot of the forms mentioned online aren't even taken. So much of it was returned to me as unnecessary.

The lady by default added 129+35$ so I was staring at 330$ on the machine. I asked it's "129+ what" and she silently said "Courier charges". I had to convince her to get rid of it. It's ridiculous because there's a poster mentioned "VAS + Courier optional", and that she never bothered to even ask me.

I wonder how many just go with it anyway. I saved 70$ (two applicants) on Surrender application by refusing courier service. Unsure how much for OCI courier. Probably another 70$.

Its seems it makes their work flow easier using their Purolator service.
I would not bother trying to save couple of dollars over courier, comparing getting our work done in a timely manner.
On diff. occasions CGI has helped me twice with something out of the way.
So if you want CGI then just follow their directions and we should be fine.

I disagree. I don't need to donate 140$ to BLS/Purolator so their workflow is easier. And we're talking about BLS here, not CGI.

You are absolutely correct. And inspite of paying for their courier charges, some people on this thread have had their original documents lost by purolator. It's a really pathetic service.
