OCI process

Apologies in advance if my questions are basic in nature.
I applied for OCI for my child at BLS center on 26th Sep, as a walk-in.
When I login to ociservices website, I see no change whatsoever with a "
Note : The application is not acknowledged at the Mission/ FRRO yet."

However when I login to BLS it shows "Processing at Consular General"
is it normal? Where do we need track OCI status?

Also I applied from Toronto, how much time its taking nowadays?

HI, I applied on 26th sep at BLS Toronto and my application is also not yet acknowledged on the OCI portal. I guess there is a delay in acknowledgement. Please update if you see change in status on OCI portal in the coming days.

I submitted my minor son’s OCI application in person at BLS Brampton using the Premium Lounge service. All documents were verified and submitted, and I received a reference number. Later, I realized the officer did not take my son’s fingerprint—only my wife’s signature was on the declaration part of the form.

The day of submission, BLS showed “Under Process” and the OCI site “Pending.”

The next day, BLS showed “Under Processing at Consulate General,” and OCI “Under Process.”

Today, BLS is unchanged, but the OCI status reverted to “Pending.”

Does this mean the application might be returned?

Hi , do we have someone here who submitted OCI application at BLS-Montreal? I submitted my OCI application at BLS-Montreal (Premium Lounge service) on 18-Sep-2025 and the status as per OCI portal is "Under Process" and BLS portal is "Processing at High Commission". Wondering how long it would take to move to next stage. I need to travel from Montreal to India on Dec-17,2025 and not sure whether I would get the OCI received by end of Nov or 1st week of Dec-2025. If not , I have to apply for India Visa. Looks like OCI application submitted at Montreal will take a LONGER route. Any comments from anyone would be appreciated.

Hi, I am trying to cancel the voter ID as part of the OCI application. I tried to sign up in Election india portal site and tried to fill form 7 but doesn't work.

Can I download the file, fill it and ask someone from India to submit at the local election office and get the acknowledgment ? Please help.

You can ask someone who belong to the same assembly constituency, to submit a request on your behalf.

They can submit a request from their account to cancel your voter Id. My nephew submitted an application to cancel mine.

After 2 months the status of 2 (out of 3) application has changed to Granted. It was under process through out that duration. One application is still under process.

Has anyone tried to apply for OCI while in India? I am trying to avoid submitting a new application to BLS (Toronto) while they are about to shut shop soon. At the same time, I don't want to be on the wrong side of the law/miss out on getting the OCI on time.

Has anyone who applied for OCI through BLS Edmonton on September 6th received any updates? My application reached the OCI tracker on September 10th and has been showing “Under Process” ever since. It’s been over 1.5 months now with no update anyone in a similar situation?

Application date on OCI website - 28 Aug 2025
Application status remain "Under Process" for almost the entire duration.
Application status changed to "Granted" in OCI portal - 29 Oct 2025

Hi are there any more applicants who submitted around 26 Sep at bls Toronto still waiting for acknowledgment on OCI portal. BLS is unable to provide any update on further processing.
