We are applying for OCI for our 9 months old baby, what is the general timeline for getting the OCI from day of application. can anyone guide me in right direction please? I have already created bls account and uploading docs for baby, they are asking for signature for baby, is thumb print ok?

Yes. Thumb prints for kids. The avg timeline is 1.5-2 months from the day you submit your application at BLS.

Hi Thank you for your quick reply, Do you know if we need both hand thumb print or just one is fine? I have heard BLS is quite notorious at rejecting applications for missing documents and details in the form.

I just tried tracking my OCI card on purolator with CANXXXX number and it has been already dispatched from BLS showing delivery date tomorrow while BLS is still showing the same status “Counter Delivery to BLS after OCI stamping”. Hopefully it’s gonna arrive tomorrow.

Yes. I just checked mine, on Purolator - it is out for delivery and on BLS it is the same Counter status.

Hi, did anyone who applied at north york location with an acknowledgement date of 1st September got any update regarding delivery of OCI? Last update on my file was this but nothing after that.

Hey, i am pretty sure BLS has been sitting on your OCI card. i had the same status since sep 20. today when i went to BLS and found out they had it all along and never bothered to courier it to me

I think you’ll be okay. You’ll receive it within a day or so. My flight is on 4th. I am really on the edge

So i went to BSL today. the guy checked and came out my OCI in his hand. when i asked him why were they sitting on it since sep 20. He said I never paid for purolater. i showed him the receipt that i did pay for the porolater- he had no answer. Then he proceeded to tell me i can come back after 3pm to pick up the OIC while holing my OCI in hand. Anyways I was i able to get it from him. Unbelievable

Great! Congratulations!! Make sure you get the refund for the purolator service you didn’t use.
For me purolator tried delivering today but I was at work so probably they left a pickup notice now I’ll pickup tomorrow.

you just need the thumb impression of one hand. For boys, its Left and for Girls its Right. (Please check and reconfirm from the checklist).
You need one to be scanned and attached to the online form (During Photo and signature upload) and then you need to get it done on the printed application.

No. It has been delivered to the High Commission on Thursday. I am waiting for the OCI now.

I think the best option is to visit BLS because on the phone they keep telling you the same status whatever you see on website. They don’t help you on the phone

They told me that as well. they are bunch of idiots. BLS status still shows that "in transit from CG to BLS" even though I have picked it up this morning.

I am losing hope that I will get my OCI before Oct 15. Did anyone try applying for a Visa?

When did you see the acknowledgement on OCI Services website? I think applying for VISA will be futile now as even that takes 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately, India also stopped VISA on arrival for Canadian passport holders as a tit-for-tat measure.
