Finally after 31 months (I think)…got stamped passports back.
many hurdles along the way…several medicals expired. Asked for interview then they cancelled it. Made a huge mistake on of the form omitting past visa rejection…and facing a potential 5 year ban. Nevertheless, sticked with it and got passports back yesterday. Travelling in 10 days for soft landing. Super excited. Thanks for legalfalcon and everyone else.
Congrats!

My last medical was on December 23, 2022.
I submitted my passport today.

1. How long will it take for me to get my passport back with COPR?
2. I have till December 23, 2023, to make my first landing in Canada and activate my PR. Is my understanding correct?

I was inland, but still got a re-med request. I had PPR 3 days after they approved my medicals.

I’m driving to Canada from the US to confirm my PR. I have a single entry visa.

On some websites I see that it says that if I declare my car on the form I am exempt from import taxes.

On some other websites, it says this is not the case.

I’m just trying to find out. What’s the correct information?

You are exempt if you have the title with you and no loans on the car. But, don't declare if you are only moving to Canada to land as a PR and plan to come back to US and then move move back to Canada after few months. Because you can import goods including car only one time and that will be the time when you move in permanently.

Thanks. So I can land in Canada, confirm my PR, not declare the car (which I haven’t even bought yet), buy a car in the US and declare it later (one time) when I’m moving in permanently?

Is my understanding correct?
