Hello Guys,

I just got my nomination. How long does it take to get a file number from CIC? I plan to get a bridging open work permit. Current work permit expires on last week of September.

I need advice if its better to get an LMIA or proceed with bridging work permit.

Its gonna take atleast one month to get AOR and medical from Nova scotia.My advice would be go for Bridging open work but apply for that in mid of August. In this way you will get work permit till August 2015. This will be enough for you become Permanent resident. Bcoz CIC takes usually 8-10 months.

Even though they don't mention it in email, your photographer should stamp them with date. My did it without me even telling him.

same as mine, then i wrote my name and date of birth too. but now no options already sent to cic will see

Hi emery
You don't have to get an LMIA when you have been nominated by a province, you can apply for a work permit with the nomination certificate and job offer letter from your employer. This option can be used without getting the file no from cic compared to bridging work permit which needs you to have your file no.

Guys, so I emailed Ottawa on July 7th and Sydney on July 1st.

Still no reply from either and still no update past IP.



Any other suggestions? There's obviously been a mess up somewhere.
