I would be freaking out if I was you, some are finished and you aren't even done round 1 that sucks. Sorry hope the second part is faster.

I am here in Canada waiting anxiously for the IEC working holiday visas to be released. This waiting around for PR is driving me insane, although my application is now in London and medicals have been received and passed.

I`m with you guys! This is driving me nuts!! Its completely ridiculous that they haven`t updated in weeks... but also, change the number of days!! So misleading!

I will keep fingers crossed for you guys. I can't imagine what you are going through . I was going to post our latest woes with CIC but after reading about those who haven't gotten past stage1 I felt petty and ungrateful. I empathize with you and wish you a speedy process. Have you tried calling? Some people call and then after a short while something good comes of it. Also there is always the hope that they forgot to communicate with you- they do that and the next thing you know they are way ahead of you.

It's fun with statistics. They know the number people look at is the number of days. So 55 looks pretty good (especially compared to over 100 like last year). But November 20th is actually 86 days back. But by processing a little from December, January and February they can fudge the numbers to make the situation look better.

I think you might be giving them more credit than they deserve.

I've called them couple times in the last two weeks, but was told I have to wait until the date shown is past the date they received my package. In my case it has to be past Nov. 21. I was ready to call today assuming they would at least move couple days

I'm guessing if something was wrong with the app they would have returned it by now. Maybe they are waiting for a 3rd party to confirm some info, or they are done and just forgot to notify.

I want to call them again, but not sure if they make notes on the system. Don't want to annoy them heh.

Unfortunately you will have to wait. There is no rhyme or reasons as to why some are processed far quicker than others. I would wait it out and bide your time! It is difficult, but we all have to do it. Best of luck to you!

I hear ya'll. It was the same for me they hadn't changed the status in 3 weeks and then all of the sudden the date jumped from Nov 9 to Nov 20 and mine was received Nov 19 =) I think because of Christmas everything got backed up a little and they got behind. But what do we learn from all this?! Patience LoL

I work for a US immigration law firm and if things at CIC work like some of the agencies in the U.S., then I'm guessing that our applications are just sitting in a pile somewhere waiting for someone to get to them. You'd think that there would be some logical system where they're processed in the order they're received, but apparently not.... they just get to them when they get to them.

I was holding out some hope that there wouldn't be too much of a gap between my current work permit expiring and my PR coming through, but as each week goes by the gap looks likely to be growing. SUPER frustrating!

Not much we can do though.... deep breaths everyone! And keep smiling!

Do you think November apps were sent to Ottawa and that is creating the delay???

Hi there,
That could very well be whats happening. Thats where I recieved notification from. It sucks that they havn't moved the date forward from Nov 20, but I think they must be swamped with applications. You have to also remember that this website reflects a fraction of the actual applications recieved by CIC. Point in fact would be the spread sheet link for 2012 listed in this form somewhere that shows the total number of applicants recieved and processing times.....I wouldn't get stuck on what they post on the site either. Just because it says Nov 20 doesn't mean they aren't also working on applications recieved later....just look at our spread sheet.......I never recieved an AOR stage 1,,,,just a mail saying I was approved which surprised me because I thought they hadn't even started working on it......soooooooooo guys..as difficult as it may be.....patience. I'm sure you will recieve good news in time.....

I was going to say that I think everything is just really backed up because of first, the holidays, you know there had to be lots of days taken off for those which would definitely put a delay on the processing times.... and then obviously ottawa is really backed up for some reason because they sent my application out to LA when i requested it be sent to Ottawa since the buffalo office closed... a lot of the websites for the visa offices (at least the united states) show what holidays they have off so you can get an idea of when they won't be there to work on your applications. i know the feeling and it sucks, its really frustrating and it's so much easier said than done, but you just gotta wait it out unfortunately : ( definitely try to keep your mind off of it though before it drives you crazy like it was starting to do to me!
