I've called them couple times in the last two weeks, but was told I have to wait until the date shown is past the date they received my package. In my case it has to be past Nov. 21. I was ready to call today assuming they would at least move couple days

I'm guessing if something was wrong with the app they would have returned it by now. Maybe they are waiting for a 3rd party to confirm some info, or they are done and just forgot to notify.

I want to call them again, but not sure if they make notes on the system. Don't want to annoy them heh.

I've also called twice. The first time when my app was received after the quoted number of days (early Jan)... and they couldn't even find it. He told me 1-2 weeks. Three weeks later (last week) I called and she told me that the number of days means nothing and I have to pay attention to the date they are processing from. She told me that they process in order of receipt. However, my coworker is sponsoring her husband, submitted Dec 13 and got approval Jan 11. She would not comment on that case (the first guy told me that my coworker must be lying... I sit right beside her and watched her submit her forms...) What I did get out of the second call was my Client ID number. As I was born in Canada I didn't have a UCI and couldn't track things before this. So now I know they have my file... but the calls haven't moved it at all.

I did notice that things seem to be moving quicker in Sydney from the other spreadsheet... so I'm really hoping that we have good luck in stage 2! My partner is coming back to visit in Aug for my brother's wedding... would be great if he had PR then!

first come first serve is what they are claiming. if my application package was received by their office before yours, then they will process my application first.

Sydney is very quick... and has a very good record of answering questions etc ( Unlike CIC in Mississauga!), so there is a very good chance that your partner will have the PR by August.

My hubby and I went to the Consulate in Sao Paulo and unfortunately they couldn't do much for us, but one thing: now we know for sure they received our application! I'm so happy!!!

What does AOR mean in the spreadsheet? I wonder if some people don't update their case or if they really are still wating(really hope that's not the case) I checked spreadsheets from January etc. and it doesn't seem to move at all for some...Kinda gets me nervous.

Hi Lena,
Aor is acknowledgement of reciept. Not everyone gets one for stage 1 or 2. Not everyone on the spreadsheet has been on the forum or advised, if they have had an update. Dont be nervous. Because there is no rhyme or reason to how CIC works, better to just be patient.

I wasn't expecting anything this late Sunday night (well early Monday morning now), especially considering it's long weekend in Ontario. However, it says decision made under my name, and for wife's app it shows medical received. Safe to say I'm approved for stage 1? I guess the system is updated on weekends too.

It also said letter sent on Feb. 14 about the decision, but no emails to either of us. Couple calls ago to CIC I had confirmed my email, so I guess they don't always email.

Its not common to be denied when applying to sponsor your wife. So i would imagine that you were approved and now you can wait for stage two... congrats
