Has anyone who's waiting on Stage 1 approval from November managed to get through to CIC in the last 24 hours? I'm interested to hear what they say, but haven't been able to get through to ask about my case. There must be lots of frustrated people out there, all calling today!

I called them up yesterday, and they couldn't believe that Dec and Jan cases have been processed before Nov. Anyways they put in a verification and sent a notice to CPC-M to look at my case. But nothing more than that. I think it is worth it to call, so they can send reminders to Mississauga to process us Nov ones. Don't expect anything magical.

Great thanks. I've been calling repeatedly since early this morning but keep getting the message that they're experiencing high call volumes and the call disconnects. I wasn't sure whether they'd actually be able to tell me anything if I got through away. I'll keep trying if they actually do contact CPC-M... although it's leading to a less than productive work day! Good thing my boss is understanding! :)

so, as I said, I was itching to call back again, I did, and this time I found somebody who could speak english fluently, and she said the same thing, that there is an error on the website...
and on asking as per the file status, for the first time I got a definite answer, and I quote "THEY HAVEN'T STARTED PROCESSING THE FILE YET"...

just for records...time of call: 11:40am, date of call: 22/2/13....

on asking it is almost 90 days since the application being received, she couldn't say anything in that response, and said, she wouldn't know what is going on....so back to square 1.

I think I need a road trip...away from these phone calls and internet where I am tempted to check for updates every hour...any suggestions from Vancouver?

Hi BrazilianGirl

I would call CIC to inquire about your application. You should recieve sponsorship approval by either email or post - depending on your IO. Your E-cas may update to decision made, however that does not seem to be reliable.

Hello Ms Malawi.

What is "IO" and "E-cas"?
And what is the number for CIC?
Thank you!

Hi I apologize. I get a little caught up with immigration slang!!

IO - immigration officier
E-Cas - Electronic Client Application Service -where you can access your application status online if you have a file number or UCI

Here is one number I have come across : + 1 - 613-944-4000 then press 1, for English, then press 2, then you'll get switched to CIC call center, then press 0 then press 2, and you'll be connected to an agent. If it doesn't work I know there is a lot of talk about calling on this thread earlier!

I know the feeling! Vancouver Island is a great road trip if you haven't been - although their weather forecast for the next week is as bad as Vancouver's! ::)

LOL how many of us are currently in/headed to Vancouver area?! My wife and I have a place in Maple Ridge but are thinking about moving to Surrey or New West once I'm able to work, it would be so much more convenient to be closer to the Skytrain/more bus routes!
My mother in law lives out on the island, great place to get away for a few days!

Thanks for the advice about the border crossing, we went through Peace Arch last time I was there and it wasn't too bad, I have heard that Sumas in Abbotsford is brutal crossing and heavily militarized due to drug trafficking, no thanks! lol..guess I'll talk it over with the wife and see what she says.

:D ...and one more! We are heading to Vancouver Island where my family lives. That is, providing we can find jobs there...we both have jobs with little demand outside of major cities, so we'll see if we can make a go of it..if not we'll end up in Vancouver.

well, I live in Vancouver...to be exact, work in Vancouver city, live in Surrey, and go play badminton and squash in Burnaby...

I am thinking go by the Cultus Lake...

Welcome to the club! :-) Victoria based, and with a PR, but without a job for now! :-) there are few of us on the island, and for sure finding a job is not the easiest part... I'll give it a try for a few months, and might end up in Vancouver!
Weather forecast is not great, it was pouring rain this morning, but now it's sunny, and hopefully it stays like this this week end! :-)

I flag-poled to activate my TWP after being on implied status for a while at Peace Arch and they were super-nice. I got more grief from the US side when I flag-poled about why I'd want to live and work in a country where they say "eh" and watch the "girly" sport of hockey!

Maybe a road trip to the Island this weekend is the way to go... still pouring here in Burnaby and no sign of it stopping!

I got the same ol' message!! :( I'll try again Monday! Hopefully one of us in November will hear something soon!! I try to remain positive but.....it would feel so much better if we could at least get approved for stage 1!
