Hi @Miss bee ,

Just a curious question, did IRCC put all applications on hold for 2025? I see most people did not receive any update for months including myself. I received AOR last December but no update since February.

IRCC has not officially put all applications on hold for 2025, but they’re dealing with very large backlogs, so many people are seeing long periods of complete silence just like you. Recent data from 2025 shows IRCC is still finalizing a high volume of applications overall, but a big portion of files are now outside normal processing times, especially in permanent residence categories like some PNP and non-Express Entry streams, which creates the feeling that everything is “stuck.” In most cases, after you receive your AOR, it’s completely normal to have many months with no visible updates while your file waits in a queue for eligibility, background, and security checks. The fact that you got AOR last December and haven’t seen movement since February is, unfortunately, very common this year and doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong with your application. The best practical steps are: (1) check IRCC’s posted processing time for your exact category and see if you’re still within that range; if you’re beyond it, you can raise a webform and/or ask your MP’s office to inquire, and (2) consider ordering GCMS notes to see what stages (eligibility, background, security) have been started or passed. This won’t speed things up, but it can give you reassurance that your file is active and help you understand where it’s stuck.

Hello guys!
I applied to non-express entry on September 7, 2024. Here’s my timeline so far:
Application submitted - Sept 07, 2024
AOR - Feb 19, 2025
Biometrics - Feb 20, 2025
PAL - June 06, 2025
Medical Exam - June 09, 2025
Background check - completed on October 30, 2025.
No Final Decision.
No P1.
No P2.
No ecorp.
PVO - Sydney, SVO - Montreal.
I order GSMC notes 2 months ago and still didn’t receive them.

I can see on the September spreadsheets that many people with similar timeline received the their FD, P1, P2. At the same time, there’re people who waited for FD 6-7 months after background check completed. How can I know how long will it take to get a final decision? What are the chances to receive a negative answer?

Thank you.

If the medical has to be reviewed by a healthcare professional at IRCC it can take over a month to appear as passed on the portal or to get a request for further testing.
