Hello @Miss bee, this line seems contradictory to me - “List all the countries (including your country of citizenship) you have visited or lived in for more than 6 months, outside your country of citizenship or residence, in the past 10 years.” if they said outside your country of citizenship then it shouldn't include the time spent in your country of citizenship, right? Or do you mean if you visited your country of residence while you are resided elsewhere.

Let's say your from country AAA and you moved to Canada in 2021 (country of residence). In 2019 you travelled to country BBB, and in 2020 you travelled to country CCC. In the form, you don't need to include any trips to country AAA or to Canada, just the ones to countries BBB and CCC.

No idea. I ordered GCMS notes 1 month ago but haven't received them. My tracker still says backgroung check in progress and eligibility not started.

Yes, you should include your past travel, even if it was more than 10 years ago, if IRCC has specifically asked you to sign and possibly resubmit IMM 5562

1. IRCC Request Overrides Initial Instruction: Even though the form originally asked for travel in the past 10 years or since you turned 18, if IRCC is now asking you to sign or update IMM 5562, it’s a chance for them to clarify or verify your travel history more fully.
2. Better to Overdisclose than Underdisclose: If you did travel 13 years ago and didn’t mention it before, it’s best to be transparent now. IRCC may have noticed it through other means (e.g., visa records, passport stamps), and omitting it again could raise concerns.
3. No Penalty for Including More: It’s perfectly acceptable — and even smart — to list travel older than 10 years if you’re unsure. Just clearly note the dates.

What You Should Do:

• Complete IMM 5562 again, including the travel from 13 years ago.
• Sign it as requested.
• Include a short explanation (in a letter of explanation, or a note on the form) saying something like:
  “This travel occurred more than 10 years ago, so it was not included in my original submission based on the instructions. I am now providing it for completeness and transparency, as requested.”

I have a concern regarding adding a newborn to an existing OINP non-express PR application. I am going to be a dad next month and want to know what the procedure and requirements are for adding a newborn to an existing OINP application applied on July 23rd, 2024, under OINP ISS.

Your child will be born in Canada, and therefore will be a Canadian citizen at birth.
A Canadian-born child is a Canadian citizen, and does not need to be added as a dependent on your PR application.
You are not required to add your Canadian-born child as a dependent in your PR application, and no medical, passport, or fee is required for them.
However, you must still inform IRCC of the change in your family composition to keep your application accurate and complete.

What You Need to Do

1.
Notify IRCC via Webform or Email
You must update IRCC about the birth of your child to avoid any inconsistencies in your family information.

Include:

• A Letter of Explanation briefly stating that your child was born in Canada and is a Canadian citizen by birth, so you are informing them for record purposes.
• A copy of the child’s Canadian birth certificate (showing both parents’ names).
• Your application number and UCI.
• Your full name and date of birth.
• (Optional but helpful) Updated IMM 5406 (Additional Family Information) form listing the child

2. No Need to Submit

• IMM 0008 (no change to your dependents)
• IMM 5669
• Passport of the child
• Medicals

Hi @Miss bee How much time is required to finalize the eligibility? It has been in progress since I sent the ADR(Background form, Employment Record and Police clearance) in February 2025. I call the IRCC agent every month, and they consistently tell me that the eligibility is still in progress and that the security process has not started yet.

My PVO is Etobicoke. Or is there any way can send email to office directly?

The eligibility stage for paper-based permanent residence applications under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) – International Student Stream, especially when processed at the Etobicoke visa office, can take a significant amount of time. Since you submitted your additional documents (background declaration, employment records, and police certificate) in February 2025 and eligibility is still in progress, this delay—while frustrating—is not unusual. Etobicoke is known for slower processing times, and eligibility assessments can take anywhere from 8 to 14 months or longer, particularly in non-Express Entry streams. Unfortunately, IRCC call center agents are limited in the information they can provide and often can’t offer anything beyond confirming which stages are complete or pending. If eligibility hasn’t been finalized yet, the security process cannot begin, which can further delay overall progress. To get more detailed insight into the status of your application and any internal notes or concerns raised by the processing officer, it’s strongly recommended to request your GCMS (Global Case Management System) notes. This will provide a more accurate picture of what’s happening with your file and help you understand if any additional steps are needed or if the delay is purely administrative. Direct email contact with the Etobicoke visa office is not possible for applicants; all communication must go through the IRCC webform or contact center.

Should I reply to the Portal 1 email immediately, claiming that I am not in Canada, with the date I will return?

or should I reply to the email after I am back in Canada, claiming that I am in Canada, with the last day of entry, as it is still within the 7-day time frame for P1?

I have a couple of questions about applying for work permit-LMIA exempt using the recent provincial work permit support letter I received.

Just before I digress, see my situation below.

- I received a PNP (No employment restriction) , this nomination has expired in Apr 2025.
- Applied for PR PNP Class non-express entry in December 2024
- Haven't received AOR yet so I can not apply for BOWP
- My current work Permit and all the status of my family expires in Aug 2025 ( My spouse has Open Work permit and the kids are on visitor records)
- I have a Support Letter from my province for applying for a new Work Permit received in May.

My questions are below;

1. Does my employer need to open an employee portal and pay the fee for me to be able to apply for the work permit-LMIA exempt? I read some where that the employer doesn't need to open a portal or pay the fee if the PNP has not restriction like mine does.
2. Just because I want to get the Our statues changed quicker and receive new letters as soon as possible is it possible to apply via paper application and have all my family members status updated.
