When you first link your application to your IRCC account, it can take some time (sometimes a few days) for all sections of your application (like messages, document uploads, and status updates) to fully appear. This is a known issue with IRCC’s online system.
So yes—it should get updated, but not instantly.
How to Upload ADR (Requested Documents)
Once the system is properly synced, you’ll see a section in your online account titled:
“View submitted application” or “Check full application status”
When updated, it should include:
- A message about the ADR
- A button or section to upload the requested documents
If it’s not visible yet:
- Give it 24–72 hours.
- Sometimes, it’s still being processed in the background.
In the Meantime – What You Can Do:
- Check Your Email: IRCC usually sends a message with specific instructions on how to submit the documents. Sometimes this includes a secure IRCC link (different from your online portal).
- Check GCKey / IRCC Secure Account Messages: Look under “Messages” or “Correspondence.” Sometimes the upload link or document request appears here before it appears in the main application interface.
- Biometrics: If you received a biometric instruction letter (BIL), you don’t upload anything yourself. You just:
- Schedule an appointment at a VAC (Visa Application Centre)
- Bring the BIL and your passport
