Emo,pcc is not a difficult thing to get it Lagos.I would suggest you submit a pcc less than 2weeks,anyone could have committed a crime in the space of one day let alone one month.Give a fresh pcc and leave no room for any doubt.

You may begin to gather your police certificates before submitting your application to the CIO. Although you will not submit the police certificate to the CIO, you must be ready to submit them to a visa office if your application is recommended for further assessment at a Canadian visa office. When you submit the application to the visa office please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months before you submitted your application to the CIO
The highlighted portion. Do you all consider it safe for one to submit The PCC issued a month after submission to CIO when submitting entire document to the VO six months later. seeing that the PCC is valid for only 3 month. Egbeyi ye wo o o.

Wait until you are ready to submit your final application and documents with CHC before you obtain your PCC. Though PCC is now valid for 1 year from the date of issue. Cited from the updated OP6 in october,2010 Though Nigeria Pcc is 3 months

Ig, check you PM,PLS

Please lets stop further comments on Awoderu's issue of notarisation of his brother's docs. It like the thing is turning into another stuff.

We are one house PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE

Lets talk of the get-together a beg...am really thinking of it already.

@Ig, pls check your PM and advise of the number. Meanwhile, I suggest you or Awoderu create a small excel sheet where you can put our data. Keep in mind the data will not be visible to antbody except those who are in the list. All you need do is to send it as PM to all of us...am sure is not too tiresome to do for the benefit of your 9ija sisters and brothers.

So if we have the data, we can always get in touch with one another and become more united.

9ija for life.

I would let someone else to reply this question, no offend pls.

Dear Naija,

Permit to say Congratulations to us all for this wonderful initiative suggested towards the union for those of us in the immigration train. I would have loved to be part of this inaugural meeting but currently unavailable in Lagos. I will not be back in town until late January 2011. Please pardon me for my absence.

Thejackson, thank you so much for your kind words and concern. Barsindoo, you have been very helpful to all, thank you so much. My appreciation also goes to Ig, Right, tinuadeadebola, toto, and others for keeping this thread alive and active.

Awoderu, my brother no shaking. You dey kampe. However, I will advise all of us to carefully check the Accra Visa Office requirements before submitting our documents. The advice by forum members regarding notarisation and other criticall issues will not have been an issue if we follow the VO guidelines in documents checklist. Let us not rely solely on what consultants say or advice. They are not infallible. We are lettered enough to research, seek advice from experienced people and above all follow the VO requirements.

Regarding the PCC, I will advise us to check the VO requirements regarding FSW category. It is not included in the requirements as at the time the update was done in August 2010 and the latest update in November 2010. In my opinion, pre-June 26, applicants can include PCC while post-June 26 applicants should adhere strictly to the new guidelines. What do we think in this regard???

Having said all these, I will implore us to mind our discussions and choose our words carefully in advising ourselves especially regarding PCC. We can never be too sure if the Accra VO is carrying out espionage on us. This is public forum that people can view the discussions without registration.

We should bear in mind that background check will be done by high commissions staff that understands the local terrain and culture of the applicants’ people. It is advisable we PM ourselves to address personal and critical issues in the application process as it affects the country and us, going forward.

Cheers
Olabisi

so what decision have you guys come up with as regards the union, i think it is a great idea

My fellow brothers/sisters,
The idea of meeting up is a good one. I see huge future benefits both for us and future naija applicants. It will also help us after arriving in Canada (by God's grace). How I wish I am in Nigeria, I would definitely have been there. So those that can make it, let's give it some efforts.

As per notorization of relative's document, CIC never asked us to notorize (unless you are sure that your VO requested you to). My VO is London. It only requests for photocopy as Canadian documents are easily verified by them.
VO requirements should be our pocket "bible". Nothing will go wrong if we stick to our respective VO instructons. For example, somebody in another forum said that his VO requests them to notorize photocopies of their passports pages whereas London VO only requests for just photocopies of passport biodata page and visa if you are not in your cocuntry.

Wish you all God's blessings and hope to see you soon in Canada!

Dear Fellow Nigerians
The meeting is a welcome development. I lived in Zaria with my family. I will attend the meeting online. So the date and time should be communicated to me on time.
There is POWER IN UNITY

Eyaa, I do not live in Lagos or I would have attended. You guys have fun. But this family gathering/building should not exclude non-Lagos residents when we get to Canada o! :D

Hello all,
Like Jackson i am also not in lagos but would not mind being a part of the meeting if i get the details on time. Why dont we move it to sometimes late January when all the christmas trip would have come and gone? just a suggestion anyway

I am in Lagos too... And I would love to be there if I can get the details in good time... Thanx 4 dat innovative idea.
