New e-Declaration process does not require PR Card to enter Canada?

Hi,

I recently travelled from abroad back to Canada via T3 at Pearson Airport in Toronto.

I noticed that with the new e-declaration self-serve kiosk,

1. my passport was scanned at the kiosk
2. photo taken at kiosk
3. paper declaration printed by kiosk
4. passed custom with the declaration paper
5. I offered my passport and pr card to the officer and he politely declined to see
6. passed custom and collected baggage..

Is this really the new process? They don't even look at my PR card anymore?

You scan your PR card as that of Passport , & get back the printed paper with particular number on them. So its all chekced
