Hi All,


Need 1 advise please.


God Blessed us with a Baby Boy on 19th May. I got Birth certificate of Baby but Passport will take some time.

In the mean time I have Informed CHC ND via case specific enquiry Portal.


Do I need to follow any other step to inform CHC ND ? or Anything else. Please suggest.

Need advice about proof of landing funds and insurance from who have landed in Canada.

1. How did you take your funds along: Bank statements, draft, or traveler's check?

2. Did you take any insurance: medical or traveling? Please share.

3. I have read somewhere that if you are in ontario, to take health medical benefits you need to stay 153 out of first 6 months there? Please share if you know anything about it as well.

About FTH, no one knows it for sure, logically speaking it should, but we have example of many applicants thru the process in no time despite of having lots of FTH, and there are some on the list (like me) who waited reasonably longer time to receive their PP back even though having no FTH..

So, buddy no concret answer.. that's how it is.. how much you try to evaluate the process, more the question arise for you, this is what my personal experience..

Hey Vishesh,

1. I would prefer to carry funds in 2 ways: Bank account & Traveler's Cheque.

2. As far as Insurance is concerned, I think it is important...While you have meticulously planned every aspect of a trip abroad, there are still chances of things going awry due to events beyond your control. You could fall ill, lose your passport, have a flight delay and so on. For a complete bailout from such unnerving experiences in a foreign location you need a overseas medical policy (Travel Guard).

Good News from my side..

We received our Passports with Maple leaf stamping today ....

I would have got it 30 days back..but..as my wifes passport lamination was comming off they asked me to take new passport for her.so i have to take new passport and submit..and exactly after 2 weeks i got them back..yahh i cant see them for another 2 weeks as i am in US and they are in India..

Thanks every one in the forum..i was a silent follower..but.it was great help from you guys especially mentally and spiritually..and to name a few..Manish thanks for adding tracker..

As Manish said..after adding to tracker..i got the good news..
