I was wondering if you could tell me if you were notified that your passport was received by the embassy... I sent mine in around the first week of December... Did not receive any acknowledgement of the same..

Hello all..
Oooohhh This wait is killing me!
My timeline is as follows:

Application received: 10th August 2012
Sponsorship approved: 26th September
Request for passport: 16th October
Status 'In process': 7th February 2013
No further news... Awaiting status change/passport return

I really do not know on what basis some people get their PR in 5ish months and some take so much longer.
Any suggestions or consolations?
Can anyone suggest when I can expect my passport back? The wait is killingggg me

I was also wondering if anyone who also received their passport could guide me on the method of passport delivery- courier/post company etc

Based on others' timelines, it should go to DM within a week (maybe this Monday) and you should get your passport within a week after DM.

Yes hm82... We are october applicants... bt still waiting for PPR... U can see spreadsheet of 2012 applicants in signature of some of the members of this forum.... shuffle few pages back... u may find a link... Whosoever has got sponsorship approval in mid November are waiting for PPR...

bt dont worry... u will get when there will b time for it...

Hello Friends,

I have couple questions regarding applying for Visitor Visa for my wife. I have already applied for her Sponsorship application for Canada last year December 2012, and her application has already been approved and sent to New Delhi, India on December 17th, 2012. My question is while the application is in process I would like to apply for Visitor Visa mean while for my wife. Can someone please tell me what needs to be written on the letter which I need to submit and what else do I need to submit along with the letter.
Also, if I apply for visitor visa for my wife while her Sponsorship application is in process. My question is that it won't delay her Sponsorship application..?

Nope. No updates.

As for the above, I'd like to add I am not from those high risk states.
I have been in a relationship with my husband for 8 years. Provided lots of photos, emails, travel details, ticket stubs, hotel reservations, marriage pics, wedding invite and other documentary evidence from the past 8 years.
First marriage.
I studied in one of the top US colleges.
We are well within the age range
We are from well off families, in case they think I may want to claim social insurance.

All said and done, I'd like to tell forum members there is NO logic (that we know of) that we can apply to this process. It's normal to want to compare, but don't get scared if you fall into the 'high risk' category.

And if you know anyone who has had a fraud marriage. Please give them a piece of your mind on my behalf. They're making life very difficult for genuine couples.

I agree with maple. I am not from high risk state, Its first marriage, we are in same age group and both of us well educated and well settled in our careers. It still took me 286 freaking days. there was a friend of mine, with almost similar case as mine, it took her 5 months. There is no hidden logic to how NDVO works. I am sure there is some sort of filtering, but I do not think they are comfortable disclosing that.

Its ok they will send you PPR. I got mine 2 months later. May be there is a change in policy to send PPR at the end of processing rather than start. Also there are many june july applicants pending.

Yes.. it was there few months ago... ppr were being asked in 15 days to 1 month... Bt for the applications transferred after Nov 2012, trend is deviated... So there may be changes in the strategies at NDVO for asking the passports...

Hmm... It could be a "Strategy Thing".
Well, I'd look at the trend in 2011 and try see the parallels in 2012. It could be the Christmas Holiday thing, right? I mean the Visa Officer's do go home and take a break during X'mas and new years and accordingly would start staggering work. Well, I hope that trend is true - and if it is, I am sure things should start getting swifter Feb-March onward.

Did you and your friend go through a lawyer? I'm wondering if people who do take longer...?
286 days fits their current timeline.. My lawyer keeps reminding me that the website states that it will take 9 months to PR... Which I think is ridiculous!

same here... very straight forword case still have to wait 282 days..pp with them almost 6 months..but happy ending.hahahaha
