Hi all,
I am a Canadian and asking this question for my brother. My brother is in USA on a B1/B2 visa from India. He came to US on work related activity and we are thinking of applying for a Canadian visit visa for him to come and visit me in Montreal.
When he tried the online tool, if he chooses 'Visiting brother' as a reason for a visit, he is expected to submit lot of documents including financial references and an sponsorship (invitation) letter from me. Some of these documents are very difficult to obtain being in the USA and his company may not like to provide these documents since he is on a tight work schedule.
However, if he chooses, just visiting Canada as a reason, then he is only asked for 3 documents and very less-complicated. However, he IS coming to see me and my wife. So this could be construed as mis-represention and bite us later.
Any suggestions from you are very much appreciated.
