Hi all,

Once my application is ready to send to Mississauga, I am presuming it is currently taking ~3 months for SA. After which, they send the file to the Nairobi VO.

Will they let me know once they have sent off my file to Nairobi? I am a little confused because people are mentioning ECAS and "in process" etc. How do they communicate this to you? I am currently residing in Canada with my husband who is the sponsor.

Also, how will they request for my passport, and mail it back to me in Canada?

Can someone please post a timeline of what happens from when I would send my application to Mississauga to when I would receive landing status.

I know these questions are pre-mature, but I just want to eliminate any doubts in my mind.

Thank you to all for posting!

Once you receive your SA either by mail or email, you will see a UCI# and a file number at the top of the page they send to you. This is what you can log on to ecas with at this address https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en&_ga=1.4132784.1024964521.1415579159 this is where you will see the updates on your apploication. Your file will be sent to Nairobi when you receive your SA. As for your passport I think it just depends on if your doing an inland or outland application. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I thought you can ONLY be doing an outland application if they send your passport to another VO (Nairobi)? I am filing an outland application.

It's up to the VO. They most likely ask you to send it to the VO in Nairobi. In some cases, if they know you are in Canada, they may ask you to send to Ottawa - but this is rare. The only times I have seen this happen, is when the applicant has a student status.

Iam confused now ,,, :o :o :o i have checked one of cic web site regarding RPRF saying that '' if u applied outside of canada cic will contact u to made RPRF after positive dis….. made by V/ officer '' which means i haven't got any request yet and paid , mailed the receipt today . whats going on here ? is this normal or i did mistake?

Most people pay after a decision has been made, but you can pay before a decision is made. Paying before decision is made can shorten your processing time.

how long will it take to process the fee tho ? and how long will it take VO to request those things ( medical and rprf ) if my application transferred Jan 2015?

Decision made takes 6 months +. So normally they request medicals later- after 6 months+.
However, each case is different, and unique, so I can't say when exactly you will hear from them.
As for the fee, check your credit card statement...when it goes through, it will be taken out of your acc - they don't notify you that they have received your money.
Best of luck!
