my file also has been moved around due to " workload (re)distribution" as someone had previously mentioned.
I think it is the reason why we have had the issue of the bg check going a step backwards. It is an educated guess however and can not say it with certainity

My BG changed from In progress to not needed at this time, just now.
Here is my timeline, what do you think please?

AOR: 9 Oct 2015 - PNP -
Medical: Passed after like one week from AOR
Annex 4A asked and provided: Nov 2015
IMM 5669 E : Schedule A - Background / Declaration asked and provided: 23 Dec 2015
BG in Progress: 6 Jan 2016
BG not needed at this time: today 18 Jan 2016

Mine change in like 2 days too...
Others took longer to change. Don't think we have been able to establish a pattern as yet regarding the reason behind the change

My BG also changed after 2 days to "not needed"

So.. I just received an update e-mail. And I still have BG not needed at this time aaaand now I have Medicals in Progress!!!... What the heck???? Since November I had them Passed and now this?? Really, I'm freaking out and I don't understand anything!

Ours has just done the same thing! Background check sitting at 'in progress' for 2 weeks and yesterday went back to 'not needed'. No request for further documents as yet. We are inland CEC applicants with hubby as the main applicant. Timeline as follows :
App submitted - Dec 14 2016
AOR received - Dec 14
Meds passed - Dec 15
Further Docs requested & submitted - Dec 23
Background check - in progress Jan 5 (changed back to 'not needed' Jan 18)
We paid for everything up front at the time of submission. Does this make any difference on the processing time? New to the forum and just wondering about people's experience with this express entry system.

Hi guys,

My BG check has NEVER been started, NEVER went back and forth like you guys are saying......but right from the day I uploaded my e-APR, it has ALWAYS been on 'NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME'.....which I feel is safe for now.......

I thought that should be indicative of the little risk they see in my profile....because If they notice that you may have some risky immigration background, they obviously have to check on you(whatever they can get), but if they see that you are a well-travelled somebody as per your profile, they may do the BG check as a formality, but soon put it back to 'Not Needed' because they do not see any immigration risk in terms of terrorism, international criminal(Interpol) and laundering tendencies etc on your profile......? Because I know these are the issues they check on BG ......

Just some thoughts.....

Hi guys, my bg was not started previously then it went to not needed on 17.12. Today it changed to in progress and I got ppr. So my guess is that when it turns to not needed it actually moves to ones local vo. I have received my ppr from Warsaw. Aor 16.11. So basically all of you are next
