Hi, I graduated from a college in Winnipeg Manitoba, I applied for my PGWP which I got and I have 7 months left on it. I applied for my MPNP around 7 months ago and it has just been showing received under the status area. I have kids who were born here and are citizens. When I did my EOI I had 850 points and I got my LAA in a week. I submitted my application. It has been way over the processing time since I submitted all the documents it still shows received. I have called several times and sent various emails to two separate emails severally and nothing yet. So please any advice or information would be very helpful. Because we do not know what else to do.

I applied through the skilled worker.
I have my spouse and kids on the application.

Please is there anything I need to tweak?

Additionally, please if anyone has any information on any province that I should look into, I am willing to move if I have to even though I do not want to leave Manitoba, I am just scared as my PGWP will soon expire.

When did you submit? Have you gotten your nomination now?

Very Slow. I was invited to submit an application. I submitted nominated since July, 2023, Nothing Yet

This November 2024, still no update. I have sent several emails. I keep the same generic email.

Today is 17th April 2025, making it almost 2 years after nomination. I have contacted the Minister of Immigration via an MP. Was told they have mass backlogs.

Since your MPNP application has been stuck at “received” well past processing times and you’ve had no response, consider submitting a formal enquiry through the Manitoba immigration website. You might also want to consult an immigration professional for assistance. If you’re open to moving, look into other provinces like Alberta or Saskatchewan that have skilled worker streams with potentially faster processing. Additionally, check if you qualify for a bridging open work permit to extend your stay while waiting. Keep monitoring your application closely and have all documents ready in case of any requests.

Moving at this point likely wouldn’t make sense. You’d have start all over again and it is much harder to secure PR than it was 2 years ago. The family also probably doesn’t have a history in the other provinces so would either not qualify or not receive enough point to get selected. The MPNP backlog is very bad but there are backlogs in all or almost all the other provinces as well.
