We are now at almost 20 months into the process our start date is November 2018. The long wait continues . This is torture I just want my wife and son with me in Canada .

Yes be prepared to wait a long
Time this process never ends with no news for long stretches of time . Honestly , I believe they are going to make most wait close to two years it seems .

Cmon what would be the point to do that without reason..putting more pressure and delay to the actual system? i wouldn't see the benefits of this

I agree but I’m beginning to think they not in a big hurry on any files . Everyone is going over 12 months by a long time . Mexico is completely over worked and processing 9 countries makes for long delays .

they have more than 66 000 files per year in Sponsorship...but yeah pretty sure unless a "certain group" we all go over the 12 months.

They can say whatever they want in medias and all, but what we see on field is way different.... in my case the delay been also caused by Quebec as CSQ was not ready on AOR2 time.

It's a chain and it's worse when the two ones are not really communicating between each other. Mexico have opened my envelop on February 13th 2020 ( 5 days before the 1 year mark), but since they couldn't have the CSQ at that moment , had to put it on "hold" and then we got this covid that has messed up things even more.

I do not know if I said this yet here but I talked to my MP direct in Ottawa. If you push them enough they can do more then status updates. My MP has now become my representative and is taking all my evidence to the immigration minister and is also talking personally to the immigration minister about my case to try to waive the interview or do a telephone interview.

Mine would not do anything either. I was dealing with the assistant in my local city. I think most MPs have a local office to help with immigration but they also have an office in Ottawa. Contact the office in Ottawa. They are much more helpful. When I contacted the office in Ottawa...the girl that handles immigration issues talked directly with my MP and told my story and my MP jumped at the chance to help me. When you deal with the local office in your city they do not actually involve your MP. At least in my situation they didn't. They only told me updates and said they couldn't do anything more until I contacted the office in Ottawa.

I could try that ... yeah well your situation is really with an unwanted event, is maybe why he decided to take this in charge. But yeah , the local ones doesnt't do much things besides verifying updates , pretty much.
