1 Husband ETA - August 1, 2015!
So received an email from Mexico VO today! (why is it always late Friday afternoon so we have to wait until Monday to get things done? Ohhhh the suspense!)

As some of you may have read, my husband has 2 estranged children whom he has not known the location of since about 3 years ago. Of course this was a wildcard and though we submitted information about the situation in our application, along with CIC notarized forms declaring he understands they will not be eligible to sponsor in the future... we weren't sure how it was going to turn out. But they sent an email late today with another declaration form to be completed by him, stating the same (fine fine, we will do it as many times as we have to) and asking for some more supporting documents, (so he will work on basically reiterating what he has stated already, as he doesn't have formal court documents or anything).

BUT, looking like this hurdle may be soon passed! So we are both very excited, and anxious - can see the light!

Nice to see things are moving forward. Surely the end is near! Hopefully you'll get to spend part of the summer in Calgary!

I know it's tough and doesn't seem fair but it may be nothing to do with you. We have people a month behind us that got 2 months ahead during SA because of a CIC Mistake. And some people just get done in record time that makes no sense, while others get delayed months back for no good reason either. Don't stress about it, you just have to wait your turn... Even though they may put people in front of you :)
It will be like that the whole process, we applied in May 2014 and we haven't received any news since January whereas others are getting passport requests. Who know how they decide who goes through and who doesn't but it's a frustrating process since there is no way to find out what's going on.
I just hope ours comes soon because forcing a child to live apart from their father is ridiculous. It is one thing for two adults to live apart but when kids are involved it should be a faster process.

Bencarriere;

Thanks for including your info in the spreadsheet. I have moved you up into the main list.

Please update your PR applicants country of origin.

Your timeline indicates that you have already received your AOR2. This does not appear to be accurate as you appear to have received SA on the same day. If I can help to clarify any questions you might have please let me know, otherwise please update your timeline with the correct dates.

Feel free to say Hi or ask any questions in the Mexico forum!

Thanks for keeping your application timelines up to date. It helps us all!

Spreadsheet update:

As per a request, I have added another excel workbook to the main spreadsheet for Acronyms used on these forums and included the various acronyms we use pertinent to the Mexico City Visa Office. If you see one that I missed please add it at the bottom and I will organize it later...

Thanks!

Hello, everibody.

I have reading this blog for almost 2 months. I will aply to get my love back to Canada. We have a long history but also complicated. We are still gathering all the docs and finishing the forms. I am so nervous and so desperate. I see lots of app have been approved within the a year period. My fear is that mine is gonna take longer for our circustances. I am applying as common law. However my lovely man has a previous marriage and it has been hard for him since the day he separated. He was getting ready to get a divorce this year but unfortunately he got reported" from ex-wife to CBSA. He got his refugee claim rejected and he had to leave. But he did not as he has kids here and he loves them. It was hard to know that CBSA came home and took my love away from me. Kids are in Canada and althoug he manage to have a good relationship with them, mother now refusse to let them talk to him. Thats so cruel. We have hopes that he can come back. Its gonna be difficult we have an age difference. Around 20 years. And we haven't been that of a social couple. But I love him and we don't have kids together. We were more focus on his and we were plannig having a baby prob in a year. Now our plans had change radically. We still want to have a baby but just the thought of going throu pregnancy with out him is so hard, but at the same time don't know if expecting a baby will help to our application. I know he is a good man and he has fallen and got up many times that i know he deserves better. Sorry I am sharing a little of my history to see if somebody got a suggestion. I am preparing myself for the process. A year is a lot with out him. But 18 months its gonna be a torture.

I got some in March and they said medical passed, security in progress. I ordered them again May 6th so they should be here soon. It's worrisome because a lawyer I talked to said that after the medical is approved and police records have arrived it shouldn't take more than a few weeks and it's been a few months  Hopefully by summer we'll know something....

Hey guys! I'm in Costa Rica and we are packing up and preparing for our flights, we land in Toronto on May 29th. I am prepared (I think) for immigration but I was wondering if anyone ever had any issues with their airline when checking in with only a one way ticket? I have had problems with different airlines in the past travelling on one way tickets so I was wondering if they will question it or not and if they do...we just show them the copr and the visa and that should be acceptable? Right?

I've probably just answered my own question there but these last few days I have been feeling like it's all too good to be true and have been wondering if there is anything at all that would stop him from either leaving here, or getting in there. So far the one way ticket is the only thing I can think of.

I can't imagine that you would have any problems with the airline when leaving Costa Rica. You may however need to check with CR immigration to somehow register that he/you is/are leaving the country. I doubt that you will need to tell them why, but I suppose it's a possibility. A quick call to CR immigration to ask??

I update your timeline on the spreadsheet for the date that the MCVO received your passport - April 6, 2015 - do you know the date you sent it to the VO?? I sooooo wanted to put your landing date in already and watch the color change on your timeline ;), but I will give you that pleasure! ;D

Best wishes for a safe flight and easy landing!!

OK, then I have you in the spreadsheet twice, once as nprendiz and as bencarriere. there are discrepancies in the dates between the two. Please review, correct and advise me which of the 2 usernames you would like me to delete. TX!
