If I were you I'd call CPC Miss and request the exact date that the file was transferred, then at least you will have some ammunition to talk to MCVO again. In the worst case your file would have been sent with mine that went out on April 20th 2015. It has to be in one of the 2 offices...
I called CIC and the service kept hanging up on me saying they were experiencing higher than normal call volumes and they couldn't take my call. This is getting sooo stressful!!! I hope that we get an update soon. I'll keep calling

I found that calling the French lines was a lot easier, just claim you messed up and they'll speak to you in English ;)

I was trying to figure out where the transfer date on the notes is to update the table. Any ideas where I could get that information from?

My hope for all of you (us) waiting for AOR2 is that you won't receive one and you will jump right to PGR request or whatever the next step might be for your application!

You have to wonder why the large increase in file transfer times from earlier this year when it was roughly 60 days...

Keep the faith!

fatimafnts; at what point did you decide to request notes? What motivated you to request them?

When we got our "AOR2", it was also our request for an updated Schedule A form and the PGR request. I wish everybody lots of luck but people also need to be patient. It's great to have the spreadsheet for us to monitor but people need to know that everyone's case is different and we can't expect to be granted our visas in any specific order. Our PGR was received by CIC on March 3 and we thought that we were going to get a PPR within a month or so. We haven't heard anything and it's almost 3 months. We got our GCMS notes about a week ago and they haven't started any of the important checks. eg (Security,Background....) and we're now sitting at almost 10 months. So good luck to everybody but be prepared for a wait. Just trying to be realistic.

I got them April 15 only because I was seeing movement on other people's files and I wanted to see what the holdup with us was. We had gotten AOR 2 a month before but people in our timeline were getting payment requests and we hadn't heard anything. It was just curiosity I guess. But I am super glad I did because it was cool to read or story summed up in one paragraph and reading the officer's thoughts about it.

Thank you very much for that realistics words, I think all of us need to read something like that. I have another question for anyone that can answer. Have any of you asked a tourism visa meanwhile the your permanent residence visa is in proccess? Can we do that?

You can try for one but I have been told that it's difficult to get. Because a married couple is considered to be much closer to each other than just a couple dating for example the theory with CIC is that if the applicant visits as a visitor, they may not leave. If however the applicant has VERY strong ties to their country of residence eg. (job, house,) which would satisfy the VO that the applicant will return after their visit then it is possible. You would have to evaluate your individual situation and think from the perspective of a VO. Sorry to be such a downer today but really I just want everyone to think well and realistically about their situations. Good luck if you decide to apply for one!

Thumbs up to this!

The option we are considering if this process drags on into next year for us is take advantage of the new expedited on-line visitor visa system - Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) - that is supposed to be up and running in the first trimester of 2016. If the (Mexican) applicant has a current US Visitor visa or a Canadian visitor visa that expired within the last 10 years, you are eligible to apply via the new system for a visitor visa to Canada. In our case my wife obtained an American visitor visa last year, so theoretically she would qualify.

It will do that to everyone, it's normal! We can't afford decent call centre lines apparently in any Canadian Services offices. Just call again and again and again, usually within 20 minutes you'll get through, and then wait on hold for like 30 minutes.

No, no, no! Thank you very much. That's what I wanted. Someone with their feet on earth. I'll better not do it. I prefer to wait. I have jod, credits cards, house, family here in my country, but I don't want to messed everything up just because of this. We will find another way to see each other again. He just leave my country after a two weeks of visiting me. Thank you very much for your realistic answer.

It's not impossible, people from the March 2014 thread have been successful but both of their spouses had travel history that helped (they had gone to other countries and left before the visa was up, and had proof of that) and I know that they both wrote testimonials for the application stating that they would never do anything that would jeopardize their residency application and that they have every intention to leave when the visitors visa expires.

I know that it's hard to be apart, if you think you have enough evidence you could give it a go. If not I mean...chances are once your application is sent it would only be about a years wait. It was almost exactly from application received to PPR for us and we even had an interview.

My wife and I tried shortly after getting married in November 2012. Nos mandaron a la ... granja lol. No where near strong enough ties back to Mexico for my wife. We were recently married, significant age difference between us, no travel history, etc etc. I though we had a strong, convincing application, but what I thought and how they think are 2 different things. They figured it was a convenience marriage for sure. I figured that compassion would get us approval to go spend 2 weeks visiting my aged mother. Paid round trip tickets, invitations, etc. NOT! Had I known then what I know now we would never have tried applying for a visitor visa. Why didn't I know about Canadavisa back then... :'(
