Hey guys! I'm in Costa Rica and we are packing up and preparing for our flights, we land in Toronto on May 29th. I am prepared (I think) for immigration but I was wondering if anyone ever had any issues with their airline when checking in with only a one way ticket? I have had problems with different airlines in the past travelling on one way tickets so I was wondering if they will question it or not and if they do...we just show them the copr and the visa and that should be acceptable? Right?

I've probably just answered my own question there but these last few days I have been feeling like it's all too good to be true and have been wondering if there is anything at all that would stop him from either leaving here, or getting in there. So far the one way ticket is the only thing I can think of.
Congrats to you both!!!

OK, shall do! Please clarify something else for me ;D. Have you received AOR2 from the Mexico city VO? If so, on what date did you receive it?

Thanks for your kind comments!
No, we still not receive it. In the letter my husbad received in Canada they said that the fill was transfered that day, but still no receive any AOR from Mexici City VO. I am getting desperate because we really want to be together soon! :'( :(

A question: Can we call to MCVO to ask if they have our file or we have to wait? How long can take a AOR2 from them?

The SA letter says "has been transferred" but it really means "will be transferred". Lucky the person whose application would get transferred the very same day...

Usually between 60 and 90 days to receive AOR2, sometimes longer. :-[ The spreadsheet helps to give you an idea how quickly (or slowly) others have received AOR2.

As per the Spousal Approval letter I received;

Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail, fax, or in writing as follows:
Mexico
Embassy of Canada
Visa Section
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193
Col. Granada

Mexico
E-mail: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=mexico
Fax number: (52-55) 5724-7983

Really hope you get AOR2 soon but don't get desperate. You will drive yourself crazy. This process takes a long time!

Hi everyone,

CANzanillo, I was updating my info in the spreadsheet and I have a suggestion. I'm seeing that files change colors when we introduce the date that file is transfered (which I really don't know). But in the legend, this purple color indicates AOR2 status, so it's a little bit confussing. So my suggestion is updating the column and make it change just when the AOR2 email is received (if any), or place a different color for the transfer date. Great work by the way... it helps us all have an idea how things are moving in our VO and waiting they speed up the process for all of us.

Have a nice week everyone and hope people have been waiting since last year start receiving news from Mexico.

Good Morning Luna21!

Thank you for your comments and for updating your timeline!!

At one point I had considered eliminating the file transfer date as it is largely irrelevant mostly because it is inaccurate - unless you actually call CIC and request the specific date that the application was transferred - which you CAN do if you like, otherwise it simply ends up being the date of the SA email/letter. Some applicants also order notes for their application, which likely includes the actual file transfer date. In the end I decided not to eliminate the column as, at a minimum, it signals a new stage in the process. I would personally like to see everyone call CIC and get the actual transfer date, but that may be difficult for some people from outside the country.

I think your idea of a separate color is good... one for the file transfer date signalling a new stage, and then another for AOR2. I have to do a little programming to achieve it so bear with me. -----Update: Changes made!

Good Morning everyone!

Updates to the Spreadsheet!

Based on a recommendation I have added columns to include the following;
- Is the username the PR Applicant? Yes/No
- Do you reside with your spouse/partner? Yes/No
- Do you reside in Canada? Yes/No

If desired you can add more information in the comments area...

I have also added a new color to differentiate File Transfer from AOR2.

I don't foresee any issues on the one-way ticket out (Air Canada Rouge?)... just don't forget about your exit/departure tax though. I'm pretty sure the Ministry has not blended it into the ticket prices yet ;)

And while I'm here... My spouse's passport was sent to VO Mexico last week per PPR (YAY!).

Should I expect confirmation of receipt of passport from VO Mexico via email/phone?
Did anyone else get confirmation of receipt from VO Mexico?

So far nothing. And nothing updated on e-Cas either.

Thx

Awsome! :D... What's your timeline btw?

CANzanillo thanks for the update :) Very interesting to see that anyone from 2015 have received AOR 2 yet. However, it seems that after AOR2 things might move quickly. I will update my info once I get to a computer ;)

Hello Lovelycomplex, my husband and me, we are in the same situation. As Canzanillo told me, do not get desperate beause we will drive ourlseves crazy. We have been waiting for 3 months already, just to receive AOR2 and the rest can take a year. Maybe we can be lucky, who knows!

LovelyComplex

If I were you at 102 days since SA I would be tempted to send the MCVO an email. I know they prefer minimal communication but you are starting to get outside the norm for the file transfer period - at least according to the information in our timeline spreadsheet.
