Dazz13 - If you included the payment of your RPFR upfront (ie paying 1040 upfront), send the Embassy a case specific enquiry with a copy of the receipt as an attachment. You can send it through here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/mexico.asp CPC-M is supposed to process the payment and reflect it in the system. It may just not have been done properly and they want to send it to CPC-M to have them add in the payment to your file electronically (Visa offices cannot input payments done online or at a Canadian bank into the system).

Regarding the police reports, were you ever able to figure out which she got? Was it the Nuevo Leon (the state one)?
Hi OhCanadiana,

thanks for your response...once again you are very helpful!

regarding the police report...hahaha...she told me but of course I forgot because at that time there wasn't a question about it...I know she received the info really quick so I really dont know. she sent a waybill last Friday morning and hopefully the Embassy will receive it today.

a quick question...why do you think its a good idea to attach the receipt and enquire...does something make you think they didnt receive my copy? it was attached with my file and was the very first page when I sent everything in. I'm going to enquire but I'll first wait for your response.

thanks again for your advice OhCanadiana!

My pleasure :)

1. If she didn't go to Mexico City, it's highly unlikely she has the SSP police certificate and without an official request letter, it's highly unlikely she has the PGR certificate. Therefore, I'd proceed down the path to get them both (honestly, I suspect she got the state one and neither of the Federal Ones).

2. The portion of the letter you quoted that indicates

Code:
"Payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee. In order to expexpedite the processing of your application, we
require you to provide us a copy of your RPRF receipt. If the fee has not already been paid, please find
instructions on how to proceed at https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en"
would want to make me double check that they have the RPRF. Thus, it's either not reflected in the system (or the person looking at your record missed it) or that they mistakenly added it to the list of 'requirements' on the e-mail. But, better safe than sorry.

Hi guys,

In Leon, GTO and going to Mexico City tomorrow for the SSP. I know the embassy never asked for it yet but my husband and I figured we would get it now since we are kind of close by. One quick, should we give it to immigration tomorrow or bring it back with us and send it with the PGR when they ask for both?
Thanks!

p.s. cancelled our lawyer to due to cost and insufficient information. We should not have used a lawyer. We could of done everything with out her and basically did. By her not telling us to send the medical at first really screwed us over. :( I hope your lawyer is better! :)

Mail the passport and whatever else they want ASAP. Then send a case specific enquiry. I'm sure they will still issue the visa. 15 days is so short!

Thanks for the info, RIUgirl.

To be honest the big problem with the lawyer has been the process is taking FOREVER. We got married on Aug. 1 and still haven't filed our application.

BTW RIUgirl.. if you already filed your application and then went to change the representative what were you paying the lawyer for? Did they want you to keep paying even after the application is filed? what for?

I hear you, we hired a very reputable lawyer that I use through my work (we do alot of LMO's) and I found it to be a complete waste of money, everything was delayed, we did most of everything yet still had huge bills, I truly beleive a lawyer is useless unless you have a very complicated matter that requires extra legal attention. RUIgirl, we also waited 8 months just for sponsorship approval, so I totally understand your frustrations, lets hope we both get some good news soon !
