Hi everyone...

We are almost ready to send the PR app ( hopefully by end of the month), however Im having some doubts about emails and phone calls to prove our relationship when we were dating. I lost all my emails on my laptop and neither my husband kept the emails. We used to skype every day since 2009 to 2011, however skype only shows calls history from last year.

Any advice in how to give more proofs. We are sending pictures with friends, family and from the wedding, also some travel tickets and my husband work permit and contract from when he was living in Mexico.

Thanks....

I had the same problem...like me and my husband used to chat all the time on msn but neither of us saved the conversations. Plus we were living together for most of our relationship so we just talked in person so we don´t have many emails or phone bills or anything. We just sent in as much as possible...pictures, print outs from facebook, tickets to events we attended, letters from neighbours! Whatever you can think of!

Hi Everyone!
I have two questions regarding the very 1st sponsorship application form one must fill (IMM 1344)...

1- Is it best to write "N/A" in the boxes that don't apply to you, or is it best to leave those boxes blank?

2- Regarding the Sponsor Contact Information...I left the box of "current mailing address" blank because I opted for the email option (meaning: to have all correspondence sent to me by email). Now, I don't know which box to check ("Yes" or "No") in the question "Is residential address same as mailing address?" Since I left the box of "current mailing address" blank, I really don't know whether to check "Yes" or "No".

Ayuda por favor!! ???

1. There are varying opinions on this one. Some folks will say they left blanks on various forms and didn't have any issues, others of us believe it is best to avoid questions and therefore it is best to either answer a question or add in n/a, albeit by hand as you finalize the applications to mail them in and sign them.
For family class, they have been nice and accept applications with blanks, sometimes reaching out to folks to get clarification. For other visa classes, they are known to reject the application and mail it back.
Personally, I believe it doesn't take up much time to add in n/a and would give me peace of mind so I would add them in for all forms. They can't really complain that you were detail oriented, can they?

2. Don't leave your mailing address blank. If you submit an e-mail address in addition to your mailing address you are giving CIC permission to reach put to you via e-mail. However, it is not optional not to provide an address (e.g., sometimes they do need to mail you an original document .... for example an original formal request letter from the Embassy for antecedentes registrales from the PGR will need to be mailed out to the applicant)

It may help to go through http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp which has detailed instructions for each line for each form you'll be filling out.

If you sent it through UPS or DHL or something like that then you can track the package and see when they sign for it. Otherwise you won´t know until you get sponosrship approval....sometimes they send you an email saying that it got there...but I didn´t get that email till like a month and a half after I sent the package. some people don´t even get an email they just have to wait for sponsorship approval.

Great we paid for the service that tells you that the person signed, so I guess that's good news to us or else I would be wondering for two months if they got the package!! lol

Sponsorship approval is taking 88 days??? Dios mío :(

They have only processed a few days of apps in the last two months. Supposedly a back log. I think it will get worse than 88.

:/ Thats awful, I wonder whats going on.. :S At this rate we will have to go wait it out in Mexico. Is that even possible for us to do?

Question - Mexicans need a visa to visit the US and Canada. How about Europe? After my husband lands in Canada I want us to go to Paris and London. Can he visit without a visa?

Are you a Canadian citizen? Then yes you can wait in Mexico. I'll be in the US.

Lots of theories are being thrown around but I guess they got a ton of apps in January.

Geeze at this rate.. even in the best case scenario its taking 3 months for sponsorship approval and 5 months in 20% of cases from Mexico City, thats still 8 months! :/ If we did decide to go wait it out in Mexico, how would I notify them that I left my job, would that be used against us in the application?

Yeah, I am a Canadian Citizen, but now we submitted the application as employed in Canada.

Mexicans can visit most countries in Europe for up to 90 days with no visa, a friend of ours just visited France and Spain with no problems. Just Double check as you may have to fill something out before you go.

Here is a map that shows which countries mexican citizens need a visa for.

Yes we got AOR by email on April 9th and it said they were sending a letter by regular mail on that same day, with the PGR instructions. Still waiting to get the letter...It´s been 9 business days so we will wait some more.
