LOL! Yes exactly my thought, because we got it all done so fast I am a little nervous.. Hopefully this wont be used against us!!!

This has nothing to do with the visa but maybe someone can help me.

isn´t it true that an Alberta birth certificate cannot be modified in any way or it becomes invalid?

What if they want you to legalize the original document what do you do?

that is true for all birth certifcates across Canada....there are two things you can do....1) staple the document to a blank paper and then have your notary/commissioner sign underneath or 2) you take a copy and have it notarized as be a true copy of the original.......

What sort of ban does the US have if you enter legally and over stay?

It all depends on the officer, a family member got a five year ban. She´s a Canadian citizen, she can apply for a waiver but the papers she signed say that if she tries to enter or enters the US there´s a possibility of jail and the lifetime ban is automatic. They don´t play around with stuff like that... this was at the Vancouver border she was there almost 6 hours.

I just googled
"How to legalize a canadian birth certificate" and some government websites popped up, for legalizing documents.

Have you tried looking at them? They might have some answers for you. :)

It has to be legalized in the consulate of mexico in canada. Nobody else. Ughh I swear these tramites are worse than the visa!

I think I´m gonna try to scare them and tell them I´m going to complain to the canadian embassy because I cannot modify an offical document.

Ya that's silly! If your a student in mexico. Why would they expect you to go to canada to the mexico embassy and get it legalized.
Crazy people...

Haha worth a try! If you do that let us know how it goes!

I just called them and told them I called the Mexican consulate in Canada (not true :P) and they said (supposedly :P) that they will not legalize it because it will become invalid if they do so, and that they already legalized a notarized copy which shows that it is a true copy...and that they ¨told me¨ that I should complain in the canadian embassy because they are making me modify an offical government document.

So the girl was like ohh ok I will go talk to them and see what I can do, call me back tomorrow!

*fingers crossed*!

Haha nice!! Your hilarious!! *fingers crossed* I hope they accept it!
I'm sure they would. If not they are being ridiculous.

I'm sure if someone tried to "legalize" or alter a mexican birth certificate it would become invalid in a second! Lol.

Good luck! Let me know what they say!! :)
